I just had my ring sized up a quarter of a size and had the prongs retipped. Its an OEC approx. .35 in an octagonal 18k yg mounting. I took these pix with my camera phone... so they aren''t the best I''m sure..
Its paired with a Platinum partial eternity band of single cuts. The wedding band is the T&Co classic knife ege band also Platinum.
I wanted to have the ER soldered with the eternity band but they were going to charge me $200.00 to do and I had already spent enough getting the prongs retipped........

Ever since my husband bought it for me (13 years ago) I''ve been OBSESSED with octagonal heads on jewelry... just love them!!

What a lovely combination.

It''s gorgeous! I have a soft spot for oec''s (my e-ring is an oec)....but I love love love your setting and the bands you wear with it!

Jenn, it is gorgeous!! I cannot imagine why they would be asking $200 to solder the two together though??

Thanks everyone!

Pricey I know... They charged me $200 to have the prongs re-tipped, sized up 1/4 & rhodium plating.. I thought that was pretty steep but they had the rings and I was desperate just to get it done

Thanks Upgradable ;) I''ve had this ring for so long and just never gotten around to posting pix. I''m really glad for the Timeless Classics area where we can post our vintage/older pieces.

Oh, how beautiful!!! It truly is a work of art, pieces like this just captivate me, I love it!

Thanks everyone! I feel even better about my set after hearing your wonderful responses!! I''m obssessed with the octagonal head-- whether it be in rings, earrings etc.. I had a modern ring decided with an octagonal head for my rectangular cushion cut diamond. I should try to do a side by side comparision so you can see how this ring (my original ER) inspired my upgrade.

I honestly never knew that there were prongs on this ring--- just a bezel.. the ring is so old that over time the prongs wore done to nothing so I am really happy with how the prongs turned out even though I''m not used to seeing them on this ring!

Lovely!!!!!!!!!

I don''t know how I missed this thread!! I absolutely adore your ring! It''s gorgeous and unique while staying vintagey and PERFECT for your OEC!!

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the octogonal head, and the whole set is perfect together!!!

Very pretty. I''m a big fan of that style of setting.

My grandmother''s ring was an octogon and I always wished I had inherited it. Yours is GORGEOUS! It looks MUCH larger than it is on you!

Love it!!! Love the octagonal setting, I am a huge fan. Great set, enjoy!!
