an ascher.
I am dreading the learning process though.
About a year ago I began learning about diamonds.
I''ve bought four diamonds, all round.
The first three were gifts.
Then I bought a nice light-carat Solasfera for myself.
I am very pleased.
Several people have guessed it is about 1.5 carat, probably because it is such an agressive performer.
It was a lot of work learning about rounds but I always had the feeling that learing was *possible*.
Not so with the aschers.
I follow threads of people shopping for aschers and I can''t figure out what makes a good one.
And I''m an engineer so I can''t stand it when someone says, "Just use your eyes".
I want hard data!
Sorry guys, that''s just how some people are.
There is no HCA, no Gemex Brilliantscope, no Isee, etc. or other tools to help.
This is probably because the sales of aschers pales in comparrison to rounds, less financial incentive for anyone to invest in tools.
Also it is harder to compare aschers in person.
There are just fewer of them around than rounds.
Any advice?
