My DH gave me the ok to upgrade for our 1st anniversary. I started looking at GOG''s website practically everyday for "the one". I originally wanted something in the 1.30-1.40 range, but these sizes were very scarce. After 3 months of looking and bugging the staff, there was a potential "the one" that finally popped up. I put it on hold the same day it was listed. It looked pretty good from the pictures and the numbers, but I was worried about the long feather. I was told it would not be a problem, but I was still skeptical. With some reassurance from Jon, I went head with it. I ended up trading in my .85 F VS1 for a 1.57 G SI2.
My next task was to figure out which setting would be the perfect home for my stone. My original setting was the Vatche xprong. I loved the workmanship so I decided to check out what Vatche had. I fell in love with the Caroline. It is so pretty, especially with the pave basket. I showed DH the setting and he loved it as well. I had found the perfect diamond and setting.
The 2 weeks of waiting (sending it back via registered mail and the completion of the ring) was pure torture. I couldn''t wait to get this beauty on my finger. It finally came the other day and I was floored how gorgeous it was. When I first put it on, it looked huge! I thought I might have made a mistake in picking something so big. After wearing it for a day, I got use to it. When DH came home he said he loved it and it was perfect!
I would like to thank Sarah, Charles, Marie and Jon for all their help and putting up with all my questions in my quest to find this beauty.
