Hi again everyone. For my birthday in April my DH had my mom''s diamond that was given to me reset in a halo setting that I was lusting after ever since I joined PS!
I don''t know that stats, but it is .66 ct, very white and about an SI2 (according to the jeweler). It is a very special diamond to me since my Dad sold his 1956 Chevy and bough the diamond for $500 back in the early 1960''s to give to my Mom. My Mom told me she used to stare into the stone all of the time (I think she still misses it). My parents split up back in 1982 so she left it with my Dad. He gave it to me when I turned 18 and I have been wanting to wear it, but LIFE got in the way so I finally had it set (since joining PS and staring at all of the eye candy). I''m so happy to have it, I had to wait about 6 weeks for the setting to come in (from my local jeweler who my e-ring and wedding ring came from). My brother and his wife just had a daughter about 6 weeks ago and I said if I don''t have a daughter I will pass it on to her. In my opinion diamonds should stay in the family with the girls. I''m very sentimental as you can tell!
Without further ado, my little beauty:
