I’ve been away from the forum for a while due to work, but I would like to share my recent transformation from old to new (old).
I got the original ring from an auction.
I got it for the diamonds but fell in love with the sapphire. The (very) elongated sapphire is natural and untreated. I had that checked afterwards. The setting was very awkward but I got attached to it. However, the space between the stones and the metal showing kept bugging me. So I finally decided to have it reset. I had to purchase two more diamonds for the bezel and the sapphire was polished. The stone is very deep which they said was not unusual for older cut stones. So here is the old version vs the new one. I couldn’t manage to capture the blue hue as it shows in the old picture. In real life it is there. Would anyone know what that shade of blue would be called?
