I’ve been away from the forum for a while due to work, but I would like to share my recent transformation from old to new (old).
I got the original ring from an auction.
I got it for the diamonds but fell in love with the sapphire. The (very) elongated sapphire is natural and untreated. I had that checked afterwards. The setting was very awkward but I got attached to it. However, the space between the stones and the metal showing kept bugging me. So I finally decided to have it reset. I had to purchase two more diamonds for the bezel and the sapphire was polished. The stone is very deep which they said was not unusual for older cut stones. So here is the old version vs the new one. I couldn’t manage to capture the blue hue as it shows in the old picture. In real life it is there. Would anyone know what that shade of blue would be called?9237347E-B7ED-4C3E-808E-468A90009F1A.jpeg794A13CE-A5A0-4B8E-975D-8628C3FDD6FC.jpeg

Love the old stones and the blue of the sapphire!

Wow! What a transformation! It’s a beautiful combo!!

Gorgeous before and after!

I liked the old setting, but I LOVE the new one. Great job @Roselina !

What a gorgeous blue

Very pretty before and after!

Since you asked, the old hue looks like a vivid royal blue in the photo. Not sure if it is IRL. Looks more intense (just "sub-vivid") cornflower to my eye in your smaller hand shot.

I tried to pull up the Lotus image of color archetypes but all I could find was super washed-out for some reason so I can not side-by-side them.

What a great find and project, too!

Trank you for your thoughts. It really does change colours in different light conditions. It makes me happy to look at it.

LOVE that blue and setting!

Pretty re-set!
