There is a very nice woman on the island who deals semi precious gemstones. Occassionally she will get in some very LARGE ones, but it is near impossible to get them because there are always buyers ahead of me. I finally was able to be the first person to see them and I jumped on these 4 citrines. This was just a quick picture to give you an idea- I will take individuals photos when I get off of work later that will show just how beautiful they really are.

Sorry again for the photo- it was taken with a crappy digital camera in a dark room. The stones are eye clean with the 20.80ct being IF. I believe the others are VVS and VS for one of the yellows.

From the left:
20.80ct Orange Citrine.

This is actually a step cut square/asscher- at least that is how I would describe it. It is gigantic- perhaps to big for a ring but I will look into pendants...any ideas out there. This is my favorite stone of the group and I plan on keeping it. The color is darker in the photo. I would say in RL it is closer to an orangey amber color.

I don't have the exact ct weight written down of the rest so I believe the next citrine is 14.0cts oval cut. Sorry about the glare on the stone from my camera. The stone is really beautiful in real life. That is not zoning in any of the stones, it was just very dark in the room and my flash camera was acting stupid. I will probably turn this into a pendant....need setting ideas though.

Next is a 10 ct yellow citrine. I bought this for a friend since she was off island at the time. I'm not sure what she is going to do with it.

Lastly is another orange citrine. I believe this one is 17cts. I plan on giving this to my MIL for her upcoming 60th Birthday. She loves fall colored gemstones so i think we will set this into a pendant for her omega.

Can you tell I'm a huge fan of BIG stones?!

Jokes aside, those are some nice stones. I prefer amberish ones to the yellows, but you can turn any of those in a nice piece of jewellery. I''d probably go for a white gold/platinum diamond halo for the yellow one (to bring out the freshness of it''s color), and choose something totally different for an orange one, like a high karat gold bezel.

Enjoy the process!

Beautiful stones and I really like the amber colour step cut as well. Mr Ma Re''s suggestions are pretty good.

There’s no question they are really big and if set in the right pendant setting, it’ll make an extra impact.

ooo the one on the far left is fantastic!

I can see that being set pendant style in 18K or 22k yellow gold

Wow, very pretty! I love big stones too, they''re addictive!

Great stones! If they were mine I''d put all 4 into a honking big yellow gold bangle. I''d maybe even try to find another one in a different shape to go with them.

A project for JKT if ever there was one.

HI:

I know right! After I bought them I took them to my favorite jeweler -who is also setting my ruby- and he told me there was no way I could do a ring with the step cut citrine.... He told me a pendant was a better idea.

I was out last night so tonight I will get home and take better photos of the citrines.

I would totally wear it as a ring!

Have you ever seen this 24.28ct citrine ring from Fay Cullen? It's huge!

Love the stones! I can''t wait to see how you set them!!

Very neat set of stones! I''m glad you finally got to buy some from her. What a haul! Enjoy picking settings for them.
