I just received my new emerald cut. I’ve always wanted an emerald cut diamond and the price was amazing so I thought I’d try it out. I’m really into warm diamonds and this guy looked soooo warm in the pictures and video. It almost looked like a faint orange color. I received the diamond today and it’s so much whiter than I expected (mind you my other diamonds are J, N, Q/R, brown, and light brown. This guy is an L faint brown. 1.37 CT VVS2. I planned to set it in unplated 18k white gold but now I’m semi underwhelmed. Debating whether to keep or return. I’ll attach pics. Some are next to an old 18k white band and one next to a matte 18k yellow 097B7FB7-0967-4ABC-BB87-D38937CDE912.jpeg 145052E1-45E3-4B51-9D3C-FD55D5BCE78C.jpeg 55530499-ECD0-4A33-9042-781106059ADF.jpeg 5C4568A7-E8E5-4BDA-9E8E-3261C09DF7FA.jpeg

Oh, I think it is yummy. But YOU have to love it!

I like it next to the yellow gold if you want to play up the color. I could see a YG head, and white gold or platinum shank being lovely.

Although, I am tempted to see it next to rose gold, not sure if that is a contender.

I'm definitely going to play with it for a bit. Its definitely beautiful but just plays differently than my brilliant cuts and old cuts. I was really hoping to do white gold since I have so many yellow gold and rose gold pieces but I definitely think it looks best next to yellow. I was hoping the contrast against white would make the color pop. maybe it would if I bezeled it? I'll have to play around a bit

I think it's stunning and emeralds aren't typically a shape I gravitate too! Reminds me of a summer sunset, I love the color, and think it would look really nice in gold or rose gold as mentioned above.

But, I also agree that the beautiful peach glow from the stock video isn't always present in the real life photo's you've posted. However, isn't this something we accept with all diamonds, they have their "moment to shine" in certain lighting conditions and other times they are just kinda "meh".

Thank you everyone! I’m loving the cut. Was just expecting more warmth than what I saw when I initially opened it. I should specify I was underwhelmed by the lack of warmth not the cut. I was actually able to spend some more time playing with it after I put my babies to bed and it looked sooo pretty in different lighting conditions. I’ve never had an L color stone before- it is truly a chameleon 0DFA56FE-7283-4B22-AD69-DCD9722CAB4D.jpeg 698C9DCC-6314-42A2-A29F-F73F9F354349.jpeg E60B06FF-385E-4888-BDF6-0C709C306C21.jpeg BB76806D-28EB-4E80-B840-EF46934CB1CF.jpeg 65467E21-68A5-43F6-A804-3A7E5691C840.jpeg

I think you should return it so I can buy it

Honestly, it's gorgeous. I have an L colored RB set in white gold and I love it, but it looks pretty white to me in most conditions. I haven't seen any lab diamonds in colors below L, so if you're looking for more warmth you'll probably have to go earth mined.

I have an L old cut pear. Even though it's a stone that's larger than yours, so it should show more color because of the size, even set in 18 karat yellow, it's still pretty white most of the time.

I think if you want warmer than that, you might need to go earth mined.

I think I’m just going to go for it and set it in white gold anyways because that was the original plan. I was surprised to find an L colored lab diamond. I looked up natural comps and I paid less that a third of what the lowest natural comp I could find was. It was such an amazing price.

Have you been able to view it placed in a mock-up setting? The characteristics and personality may change once it's set. Will also help you decide what color metal and style of setting will make it pop.

Yes I’d definitely have to go earth mined. I was surprised to find such a warm lab cut. Any warmer probably wouldn’t be profitable so makes no since for manufacturers to create. I definitely expected L to be warmer but the more I play with it; I’m finding the color to be quite charming. If memory serves, I believe I’ve seen your stunning pear on here! It’s gorgeous.

I haven’t but I did just order yellow gold tone and white tone stone holder rings so I’m hoping that will help.

I got her up in a stone holder today and I’m in love. I still have a yellow gold stone holder coming so I’ll see how she looks in that. Im most likely going to set her in 14k Unplated white gold or platinum. 3E56D495-B20F-4E93-9DC9-60A81D5EC674.jpeg AD0DC3FF-9282-4B75-8CBC-A21FDA572D16.jpeg 8DB4070D-B6AD-4DCD-BA39-22E9794C945B.jpeg 9D74EC03-FAED-41A8-80CE-A7F5BC3899D2.jpeg

I am so glad you are "warming" up to this stone! Sorry...baaaad pun.

It may not be as warm as you were expecting, but it's very lovely and looks great on you.

It’s cute! I’m a stickler for cut and this one is very good for a “super good deal”. If it’s really cheap, might as well just get it.

Ok so here it is in a yellow gold tone stone holder. Totally lost on what metal to do now. Definitely pops and makes the stone look more yellow than what it is. D6488522-E771-473E-8958-C4A40AF3628F.jpeg

You could always do two-toned! I’ve also seen yellow or rose gold cups used under the the stone to really enhance the color.

But this stone is warm - I wouldn’t say “yellow” - depends on if you want to play it up or down!

I really love this! I love the color. Warm colored stones really speak to me, and the clarity of this bad boy + the color really make it spectacular! If you don’t mind sharing and feel comfortable, would you mind sharing the price range of this? I am looking at another stone that’s almost identical in specs and I am curious as to if I’m being high balled.

Thank you! I ordered it from NWD. Here’s another one they have with about the same color and ct specs so you can get an idea of price. They also have a 10% off code if you sign up for emails https://www.newworlddiamonds.com/co...diamonds/products/emerald-diamond-20-12230904
