I was told that this should be in the SMTR section, so here I am. Now that I finally have the stone I can get started on the setting. I will post pictures as things start to take shape and keep everything in this post. Thanks again to everyone who''s been so helpful with suggestions and comments, this is a great site. Enjoy.

Very pretty stone! It reminds me a lot of Cehrabehra''s stone, which there are tons of pictures of if you do a search. Congrats on your purchase - looking forward to seeing the final ring!

Thanks FireGoddess! Her stone, as well as Boston Jeff's were really my inspiration, those two started a cult following. :)

I originally wanted a L/W closer to Boston Jeff's, his is a 1.10 and she has a 1.26. Mine is 1.21. It was difficult enough finding the stone, so I couldn't be that picky. It took me long enough to get over the lab report saying Cushion Brilliant and not Old Mine Brilliant. They are so close though, and I sometimes I think GIA grades stones based on their mood. :) More pictures to come this weekend.

Thanks Guys. A few more I took last night. I had to get creative to make the stone sit on the culet. Kind of blury, pictures are harder than I thought. Hopefully in the setting will be easier.

My future son in law bought my daughter''s engagement ring from Mark and we could not agree more. He is a man of integrity. The teacher in him comes out when you sit with him and he teaches you all about diamonds. You feel that the "selling" part is secondary. He really wants his customers to be happy. He is an incredibly reputable dealer and a man to be trusted.

Thanks! The setting should be done by the end of the year. I wanted it by Christmas, but it took forever to find the stone.

I took a few more pictures. I was trying to capture some fire, but it''s really difficult to photograph. I think I need a tripod. It seems to photograph the easiest standing on the culet. Enjoy.

OK, well I got the first round of CAD drawings from Greenlake and I''m looking for feedback and suggestions. What I can tell you so far is that the face profile is a lock. The CAD doesn''t have the engraving, but that will be identical. What I''m questioning is the side profile and Mele stones set in the shank. I didn''t go with Milgrain along the edge because we wanted the engraving on the front to slightly wrap around the sides. I''ll enclose a picture of that sketch.

Also to be noted that the stone in the CAD is sitting much to high, I will have them bring that down so that there''s no space between the V and stone. The prongs are also way to big, but this is just the way the CAD was done. Like I said my main concern is what to do with the sidestones. They puroposly left room for a 3rd in case I wanted to add one. I think I''m leaning that way and will have the stones taper from 1.7 to 1.5 to 1.3.

I''m trying to make sure this all works together. It''s kind of hard when you are going custom and have so many options!

For reference, the ring below was my inspiration ring. I would love to hear any suggestions or comments anyone has. Thanks !
