My new AVR :)

I’ve been wanting a diamond ring since I sold my 1 carat EC earlier this year. I’ve been wearing my original small half carat oval ring set in palladium, but still found myself wanting something different. Got in touch with Jonathan at August Vintage Inc, and purchased this O color .73 carat AVR. Needing a setting, he suggested one of his designs from his site. It’s brushed 18kt with NSEW prongs and milgrain on the band and around the stone on the under bezel. The ring came last week, and boy oh boy is it pretty!!! Not a big stone by Pricescope standards, but really perfect for me and my lifestyle and budget. So here it is...

I live in a smallish Canadian city, and online is the way to go for high caliber jewellery, so this marks the third time I’ve worked with Jonathan and Vicki. I trust their opinion and I’m never disappointed when I open the box. Ya know? The pics don’t do it justice, they really don’t. It’s a pretty pretty ring and a real little disco ball of sparkles. People are doing double takes wherever I go LOL.

My ring size is really 5.5, but this is sized to 5.75 for when my fingers swell and my knuckles (they got bigger after menopause!?!).

This is so gorgeous!! I'm in love with the setting - something about the brushed gold, the milgrain, and the taper of the band makes it truly unique and special. I love the size of your stone. The whole thing is just perfection. Do you plan to pair it with a band?

I also really love the O colour with the gorgeous gold setting; it makes your stone look golden and extremely luxe. And I completely agree with posters above - your setting is just a bit different, simple but very elegant. Love it!

I also like the idea of a straight band - although you should know that straight bands are by far my personal preference, which biases my response. It will rock a bit against your ring, but I still prefer the idea of a straight band. Having said that I wouldn't mind seeing a CAD for both options! A curved band might actually go really well considering the feel of your ring.

I usually prefer straight bands, so I would probably try some on to see if I liked the gap.
