My mysterious yellow enigma diamond !

Gorgeous! We need a family shoot of your natural antiques.

My question is: are those statues all from your yard??

I have to get my cluster back from David to do a group shot!!

My cousin owns a nursery and I live super close so i walk there with my dog and walk around because i love it there!

Im going to wind up crashing my bike whilst wearing it because its constantly changing colors as I ride through sun and shade and change directions and it's completely mesmerizing!!!

^^ thats a horse, but i couldnt get enough of his head in the shot.. lol

Gosh I thought I was obsessed w the three stone but man - new obsession! And you know I long for a FCD in an old cut. It’s amazing. Curious - rose gold cup? How was that chosen over YG? It sure worked!

OF COURSE! So there is a cup under the diamond that is 18k rose gold, the rest is 18k yellow gold and then the black is added after. He sent me pic before he blackened it to make suer i wanted it blackened LoL

Thank you for indulging my curiosity.
Couldn’t tell if I was seeing rose gold between the center & cluster or their antique gold - or shadows, or what.
I blew it up to play around with seeing what the center looked like antique’d, you know for science purposes.
lol.

Can I tell you how incredibly guilty I feel about getting a fancy before you?!?!? I feel so bad because you have been looking forever !! And I wasn’t even looking for yellow I was just looking for old mine cuts AND I actually thought this was like a champagne color!!!!

I was so obsessed with that Art Deco one from Dover that I entertained the idea of yellow, but this definitely was one of my impulse purchases that actually worked out for a change

So, I asked David to put different colors behind it and send me pictures so I could pick which color I wanted behind it for the cup

Oh. My……. What a BEAUTIFUL ring! That diamond is just amazing & completely lemon! The new setting does the halo more justice - it just looks perfect.

She is lovely in her new dress!

Is she mostly champagne color indoors and yellow outdoors with the fluor coming into play mostly in full sun?

Oh @Inked, I never thought I needed a cluster……until now! Divine. :kiss2:

The "where" I got this is a very stupid long story. So I will spare you. But the jewelry store is known to me. I was on their website and there was a bad pic of a champagne diamond they listed as I think S/T, uncertified, but it looked champagne in the pic. BUT IT WAS OLD MINE!!!! I figured, hey, they allow returns, why not?? I dont really care about yellow, i care about OLD MINE!! So it came and i took pics inside, it was champagne looking and I loved it.

Then I went outside.

It turned bright greenish yellow!! I posted and asked on Rocky Talky and figured it was fluorescence. I sent to David Klass because the original Georgian setting was doing nothing for it. Also 2 of the halo diamonds needed to be replaced. I also wanted to brighten the color.

Oh, forget it, I am just going to post a million pics

Here's the original setting/Pics

Here's the new setting! Don't ask me for it, I am never selling it hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

The new setting makes a HUGE difference, I love this ring so much, it is hands down my favorite ring.

So here we go, Chameleon diamond, 2.72 Old Mine, Fancy Brown yellow with medium blue Fluorescence, DAVID KLASS NAILED the setting I asked for!!!I MIGHT still have them blacken the center halo like the original setting, but for now I am leaving as is

Holy Smokes!!! That's just drop dead gorgeous!! And the setting is sooooo cool--perfect for your stone! I wouldn't get a thing done with that on my finger ;-) Congratulations and enjoy!

Saw it on DK's IG feed and I was hoping it would belong to a PSer!

DK :kiss2:

Beautiful! She definitely had a glow-up! DK does magic sometimes!!!

You have exquisite taste!

Soooo I have to thank @jaqjaqjaq because I modeled this whole setting after her “marigold” that I’m OBSESSED with - she was kind enough to show me her color enhancing cup on her underbelly (sorry, I’m immature and that sounds dirty)

So that’s where I got the idea for it

Then I felt like I wanted to do rose gold because I know most of these pictures are taken outside so it looks bright yellow but remember this is a champagne color inside, but needed to try out yellow & white and at least see

The rose gold was the winner! I thought the hole would be a littler bigger for cleaning but it’s pretty small !

Anyway, here’s the cup David Klass did, to my eyes it’s a HUGE color difference between how pink the cup is and the yellow of the setting but you know it’s hard to capture in a picture!

And some champagne shots because I’ve posted so many lemon drops and I love that its BOTH ! My chameleon :kiss2:

HOT FIND!!!

Wow, it's so fabulous and the new setting is perfection! What a find! I do love a good yellow diamond[or brown yellow, lol].

I didn't think anything could top how stunning it was when I first saw it on DK's IG, but now with it changing colors! I'm dead.

Love everything about this ring!

I love this stone! I also like the halo setting top, but my favorite part is the stone.

Obsessed. This ring is amazing, the stone is amazing, the colors are amazing, and your pictures are amazing!

Thank you! I wear it every day which if you know me, i dont even wear my engagement ring every day because my rings spin badly and annoy me, but i love this so much!!

The color of that stone is gorgeous! The setting is perfect to show her off. Once again you have outdone yourself Inked.

@Inked I’m very curious about how DK fabricates these silver topped pieces. In the olden days they would have been made with a silver metal top piece soldered to a gold bottom, each piece fabricated separately I believe. This picture of your lovely cluster seems to show that the entire ring is cast in gold then the darkened parts are painted on, which would be a more modern technique. Or is the gold dipped into silver somehow, like plating??

In your thread about your bracelet you mention that it is fabricated from silver and gold, not painted with oxidizing paint. I wonder if you can share anything about your choices for these pieces or how they are fabricated? It is very intriguing! I love this style and have thought about it for myself one day.
