I posted in Hangout a few weeks ago about my Mom losing the diamond in her wedding set. This was devastating for her as the ring was her mother's and extremely sentimental. They looked for the stone, but it didn't turn up and I set out on a quest to make things right again. I scoured Ebay for a ring of a similar vintage from which we could liberate a stone of similar size and quality and make her ring whole again. It took about a month, but I found a vintage set on Ebay with a 35 pt center stone and a nice wedding band. When it came in the mail, the diamond was even better than I expected. I took the rings to my local jeweler two weeks ago. It's been ready for nearly a week, but I was just able to get it today (darn crazy schedule!). They replaced the head completely. The new head is not an exact match, but honestly, it's better!!! It shows off the diamond so muc better than the old one did! They polished out all the scratches and got years and years of dirt and grime off it. It looks fan-freaking-tastic! They also sized the w-band from the Ebay set to fit my mom's right middle finger- that's where she likes RHRs. It's going off to her in the mail tomorrow, but I got some pictures in the sunshine today!
Here it is! I am so excited for her!!
