Looks pretty good to me Dem! Can''t wait for you to get it so we can see these two paired up. I love the patterning of the stones - maybe more than the Pearlman''s ring.

Thanks, MGR. I think it will be a lot more delicate than the Pearlman''s ring. I really like that it''s an antique. Hopefully the stones will be lively and sparkly.

I really like it from the pics, I hope it turns out to be a keeper! When will you get it?

Hey Dem,
Beautiful new setting and new band! The ebay one looks good too.

I know what you mean about wanting the prongs perfectly clawed, but honestly, the way it looks now is perfect and I would not change it.

I think I am very similar to you in that I want my jewelry to be perfect and I notice all the little things that others may not notice or even care about, but hey, that''s fine as long as it doesn''t drive you crazy and like you said, some things are better left alone. It might be even worse if you try to fix it!

I just got my upgraded diamond in June and then I found a Simon G setting that I really loved and I went ahead and got that last month. The head is bothering me a little bit as it seems to sit more to one side than the other depending on how I angle the ring and the table is not perfectly centered in the prongs, plus the prongs are very square and a bit bulky ( I had GOG set it for me), but overall I am happy and have decided to just keep it.

I got a great deal on the setting, so I figure I would keep it for now and who''s to say that if I had paid full retail price I would not have the same issues?

But anyway, it''s normal to second guess yourself and I just want you to know I completely understand exactly how you feel!

congrats again!

Absolutely beautiful ring!

Oh My Stars, what beautiful rings!!!! I looooove your EC ring and I wouldn''t touch those prongs!! They are perfect! I love the band too, it looks stunning from your pictures. There is something special about step cuts in drawing you in that I just adore!

Gorgeous ring and band! Can''t wait to see them together.

Your Maytal is beautiful! I like the Pearlman''s band, but I LOVE the Ebay find. It''ll be nice to be able to mix it up.

Can't wait to see your new band Dem - it really does look sparkly!!

Thanks everyone for your very kind replies.

I have a few more pics of the ring with the Pearlman''s band. I do wonder whether the asscher band is a bit too heavy for the Maytal ring, but it''s such a nice band for such a great price, I just couldn''t pass it up. I only got one picture on my index finger because I still can''t get the ring over my ring finger knuckle. Soon, I hope.
Okay, I have a new favorite on PS!! This is scrumptious; individually or as a set. Clean classic lines that allow the diamonds to do all the talking!! It doesn''t get better than that; you are one lucky lady. Enjoy!

Ellen -- The band should arrive late this week or early next week. I hope I like it. I only have 3 days to decide if I want to return it.

Butterfly -- I've been wondering about your upgrade. When will we get to see pics??
Yes, I think you and I are very similar in terms of wanting/needing "perfection" in our jewelry. I think it's great if you (and I) can learn to live with things that are just a hair less than "perfect". I'm finally learning to accept that nothing handmade (or even machine made) is ever totally without some kind of "flaw". I don't own a single piece of jewelry that is, to my eye, totally flawless. I often wonder if there are some people whose jewelry is totally perfect to them and, if so, whether it actually is or they just don't pick up on the flaws I would inevitably see.

Addy -- Thanks!

Kcoursolle -- Thanks! I agree about step cuts really drawing you in. I love brilliant cuts too, but there is something about step cuts that is so elegant. I almost got rid of this EC and I'm really glad I didn't.

ChargerGrrl -- Thanks!

Burk -- I agree with you. The Pearlman's band is very pretty and a great deal, but my sense is the Ebay ring will be a bit more delicate and have a lot more character. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

MGR -- As always, I appreciate your kind words.

HollyS -- Thank you so much!!! You're very sweet.

Holy Cow Dem - your ring is GORGEOUS!!! I

it. Your EBAY find is lovely, but I absolutely adore the Pearlmans band with it! Please, purty please, more finger shots

Wow, elegant, simple, stunning. Enjoy it!

Beautiful! I actually like both bands, but for what ever reason, I''m leaning towards the Pearlman one more...

Love how it sits so low, congrats!

Gorgeous Dem! Wear it in good health!

Demelza, your ring turned out beautifully!!! I also love the clean classic elegance of that ring. And, like someone said above, I like the Pearlman's ring, but I love the antique ring. I think it's going to look beautiful w/ your Maytal ring.

Me too! I wish I didn't see these flaws (in my ring; I don't see any in yours). My eye just sees/catches any lack of symmetry etc... Actually for me, I don't necessarily see flaws in all my jewelry, (or at least, not to the point of catching my eye & bugging me). Mainly just anything my e-diamond has been set in. I have a feeling most people just don't even notice their jewelry enough to pick up the flaws. And I try to console myself that (hopefully) I'm the only one seeing the flaws in my own, although somehow that never does console me much!

WHOA! What a ring!

your ring is so classic and beautiful!!! congratulations on your engagement!! every happiness to you both!

Pocahantas -- Thanks so much!

Diamondfan -- Well, your EC is really the queen of all ECs here on PS, but thank you so much for your kind words. Any chance we''ll get to see more shots of your ring?

Snooper -- Thanks! I love both your rings, especially your new solitaire. Next on my list of purchases is an OEC.

TGal -- Thanks a ton!

OFG -- Thanks so much. I know you understand what it''s like when things don''t go exactly as you expect with a custom ring. Luckily for me, my complaint is relatively minor and Maytal really did do an excellent job. That said, I''ve had my fair share of catastrophes. I really do think Quest did an outstanding job reworking your ring. I think it looks incredible!

Trillionaire -- Thanks.

Vita Dolce -- This isn''t actually my engagement ring, but thanks for the kind words.

A couple of things:

Maytal sent me the professional pic she took of my ring for her website. Thought I'd post it here.

Also, I got my Ebay ring today. It's very pretty -- it doesn't knock my socks off, but I really do like it. I have 3 days to return it. It looks very pretty with the Maytal (I tried to get some good hand pics, but none of them turned out well; I'll try again tomorrow) and stacked with my other bands. The band definitely has some nicks and scratches and dents, but I suppose that's to be expected for a piece this old. I'll post pics and see what you guys think.

ETA I forgot to mention that I brought up my prong concerns with Maytal. I sent her photos of a Leon ring whose prongs I absolutely love. She said she could file mine down a bit and re-polish them, but, in her opinion, the prongs in the picture I sent her are too small from a safety perspective. She said they're fine when the ring is just made, but that they wear away over time and leave the stone unprotected. She said she wouldn't recommend it, but that she would do it if I wanted her to. Probably best to leave them -- it seems risky to go against the designer's advice.

Okay, here it is stacked with my Signed Pieces bead set band and my Michael B wisp band.

Thanks!! I appreciate that! Your ring is truly beautiful, and I really love the last photo of the new (antique) ring w/ your new Maytal ring.

Also like it stacked w/ the Pearlman's ring.

Oy-I am back to ogle at your gorgeous EC!! I see you''ve got some bands now too? FUN!! I love the EC with the ebay find, buying off of Ebay is a guilty pleasure to me. It feels so wrong but feels so right yanno?
