I think she did an INCREDIBLE job on your ring! When I scrolled down, I literally gasped. It''s such a graceful ring and it''s so impeccably finished, I wouldn''t even think to touch those prongs. The way I see it, you still got the Louboutin version of prongs. Leon''s skinny minis would be the Manolos. Both are beautiful, and only a small percentage of the population would be able to distinguish between the two.

You have an heirloom-quality piece right there. Enjoy it! I can''t wait to see more of that lovely stone and setting!

Awww thanks, Pixley! That''s a nice way of putting it. You''re right and it''s so silly to obsess about these details to the point that it gets in the way of my enjoyment of a beautiful ring. I always do this in the first few weeks of owning a new piece of jewelry -- I obsess about some tiny "flaw" and feel like it would be "perfect" if only x,y,z. Thankfully, I usually get over it.

Speaking of gorgeous rings, where are the pics of yours!!!! Is your mom still visiting? I actually saw the SS mini-EC rings at 23rd Street. They are so gorgeous and look amazing stacked with other bands. YUM!!!

Hi Dem,

Thanks so much for your kind words about my ring.....It means alot coming from you- you have such FAB taste!! I am sooo happy you ended up with the Pealmans ring...It really is lovely, and I am sure it looks great with your EC ring. Do you have any pics of the 2 rings together? I would love to see!!!

I'm the same way, which is why I haven't posted my blurry, out of focus photos.

The band is dreamy and I adore it! I'll post my pics tonight. The last of our house guests left yesterday, so I now have some peace and routine.

I'm so glad to hear that you got the band back - and what a funny boomerang effect! It's soooo tricky to get the fit right when there's two rings involved, but so much more fun to buddy them up. Now I'm super antsy for those hand pics of yours!

Pixley -- I'll try to take some hand pics with the Pearlman's band today. I actually have my eye on an antique band on Ebay that also seems like a good deal. I'd love to post the link to get opinions, but I'm worried someone else might snatch it up. The seller ships to Canada, but that means adding 14% sales tax. UGH!

Can't wait to see pics of your ring! I'll keep my eye out. Are you wearing it alone, with your ering, or stacked with other bands?

Dani -- Thanks for the kinds words. I will definitely post pics of the two rings together very soon. Any tips on photographing emerald cuts? It's much harder than photographing rounds.

Bliss and Catmom -- Thanks a ton!

This ring looks great! I would not be concerned about the prongs at all. I am pretty conservative and like the idea of a prong that looks like it is there to stay, especially when it''s a four prong. I think the overall shape and artistry of the ring is outstanding. You must be so thrilled with it, I know I would be! Congrats!

It''s perfection Dem so happy for you!!!

I think it''s fantastic. It really is such a classic piece and I agree, perfert for everyday life with a toddler. can''t wait to see more pics..

I absolutely love that classic style. It really shows off that emerald cut diamond!

I love the way you put that. I''m a Louboutin girl all the way, and I prefer Maytal''s prongs too!

Gorgeous GORGEOUS ring.

What a gorgeous ring, so elegant and classic! I love it!!!

Gorgeous and perfect!

Thanks everyone for your very kind replies.

I have a few more pics of the ring with the Pearlman's band. I do wonder whether the asscher band is a bit too heavy for the Maytal ring, but it's such a nice band for such a great price, I just couldn't pass it up. I only got one picture on my index finger because I still can't get the ring over my ring finger knuckle. Soon, I hope.

Another fire pic.

Hmmm, I realize how similar these all are. Sorry -- it really is hard taking pics of step cuts.

No need to apologize, they have different colors, so they ARE different!

Love the new shots, and I adore that band. I don''t think it overpowers your ring.

And I''m not just saying this, I really do like those prongs Dem. Especially after seeing the shot taken at more of a distance, which gives a better perception of what they look like in reality. Very pretty and fluid, and not bulky at all. I think they go perfectly with the ring!

Oh, Dem, I''m just now seeing this! The ring is very elegant - I wouldn''t think twice about the prongs! I think they go with the ''sleekness'' of the emerald cut stone. I think Maytal did a fabulous job - I truly wouldn''t change a thing about it!

I don''t know that I would have thought about pairing that band with that ring but I think they look fabulous together. The price sounds like a winner too!

Congrats on another beautiful set - just please don''t let the MichaelB sit unattended too long at a time!

What a superb ring. It is so fluid and I adore the clean lines

Your ring is beautiful and I can''t wait to see it on you. I actually think the prongs are well suited for the ring :)

The new pics are fantastic, D! The band looks great with it and at that price, it can keep your EC company for as long as it takes to stalk your antique e-bay treasure!

Your ring turned out lovely! Maytal did a great job! It looks great with your new band! Not heavy at all...Just yummy!

Love the new pics, Dem! You did a great job with the photos!!! EC''s are so hard to photograph, right? That''s why I have my hubs take the pics- he is awesome at it and has the patience to do it, so why not?! LOL!!!

I love the Pearlman''s band with your ring....they look lovely together and compliment eachother well. Congrats on a FAB set!!!

Oh wow! It''s absolutely stunning, in a very elegant way!

I think the prongs look fantastic.

Gorgeous! I love the band with it.

Thanks guys! I'm so glad you like it.

Just thought I'd post a few pics of the Ebay ring I just (GULP) bought. I'm actually really scared about it. The seller is a power seller with 100% feedback rating and has a return policy, so I should be okay. I bought through Paypal for extra protection, but I'm still a bit nervous. I just thought it was potentially too good to pass up. What do you guys think? I'm thinking of pairing it with the Maytal and also use it for stacking.

Here's the description:

A BEAUTIFUL ART DECO PERIOD ETERNITY BAND. CIRCA 1920'S. SOLID PLATINUM WITH NATURAL BRIGHT DIAMONDS. THE RING IS BEZEL-SET AND PAVE-SET WITH .56CT (OVER A HALF CARAT), OF ALTERNATING FULL-CUT AND LONG BAGUETTE DIAMONDS. THE DIAMONDS ARE OF F-G COLOR VS CLARITY.
