I was chatting with Belle and John from WF and they both wanted to see this ring. I was in Las Vegas a few years ago and was at the Rio. Hubby and I were walking through the casino when a sign caught my eye. It read something about winning jewelry so of course I made a beeline right over there! I was expecting the stuff to be junk, but the jewelry was actually very nice...especially coming from a slot machine! It was a .05 cent slot machine so I threw a $5 bill in it and hit "max spin". There were about 5 lines that had to match...what are the odds? It stopped and I just stood there. Hubby said, "you won!" Immediately some casino folks came over and I got to pick what piece I wanted. I had been dying for a 3 stone, so I picked that...all for $5!! I don''t have any specs on it but they stones are very white, clean and sparkly!

I cannot find a single inclusion in any of the stones even under my loop. The only info about the ring is: .60cts, G-H color and SI clarity. Every time I''m back in Vegas I look for the machine, but it''s gone. I thought that PS''rs might enjoy this story so I wanted to share. Here are pics. It is on my size 4.25 finger. Enjoy!

More finger shots. The color the of the prongs look funky on the second one...but not in real life!

Too cool. Thanks for putting this up - I was hoping you'd post the pic when we all asked to see it. It was fun having everyone in today's webinar session. You're not going to find another $5 trinket like that unless you double-down maybe.

Did you know that one of our industry's most prominent annual trade shows is held in Vegas? The JCK show is massive, and this year it's expanding: The usual expo and convention facilities at the Venetian will be used, as well as the Las Vegas Convention Center now.

what an awesome win!!! that would be so much fun to play, hehee. gotta love a $5 stunning 3 stone ring!

That is so cool! I''d have sunk all my money into that machine.

The happy hubby and I are going to Vegas at the end of this month -- where''d you say that slot machine was again?!

Wow!!! That''s by far the nicest $5 ring I have ever seen in my life! Did you just about die when you won??? How long ago was that?

It''s very, very pretty.

I did know that! I''d love to able to attend it someday. Do you need a date?

It was at the Rio. I''ve been back 2 other times and it hasn''t been there.

It was a group of 6 machines and the other people playing weren''t too happy that I just waltzed right up there and won. Oh well!

Thanks. Not bad for $5, eh? I was completely shocked and hubby just kept saying "you won, you won". It''s a great little RHR with a cool story behind it. This was in June 2002.

Cool story and you scored a pretty darn nice ring there!!! Can''t beat the price!

SWEET! Great deal and very pretty ring!

Woohoo, $5. Orbaya, wear it like you stole it girl!

That is such a great story, and the ring is really pretty. I bet you smile everytime you look at it.

Wow, congratulations on your win!!! How exciting, what a beautiful ring.

Beautiful ring.
We were just watching a show on Las Vegas and they showed the "diamond" slot machine. The show looked like is was made in the 90''s so I bet the machines aren''t there anymore. It said the casino buys the diamonds in quantity from a supplier in NY. That is all it said.

What a blast. Congrats on the win!
