I am so excited LS! I thought I was going to deafen my husband with my squeals of delight - it''s EXACTLY what I wanted.

As for the setting, I really want a basic solitaire. I want to go super-bare, super-simple, and fairly inexpensive. A ring for sure (I wouldn''t mind a pendant, but I want to be able to see this beauty), and I want TONS of the stone to show. I am still browsing, but it''s hard to find a solitaire setting for an asscher that actually shows off the stone. I would really love claw prongs, too. I think I''ll send out a few emails to some local jewelers and see what they quote me.

Yeah see, I love that setting, except for the basket. I know a spinel probably needs a little protection since it isn''t diamond hard, but I hate that so much of it would be covered.

Plus I admit I am too poor after buying the stone to get a Whiteflash setting no matter how much I''d kill for it...lol.

Is there no one local to you that will work with it? I refuse to send mine off the for the same reason - I think I am going to find someone local and insure the heck out of it, and hover to make sure it''s done right!

I was just looking last night, but I can''t seem to use the search function to look specifically for asscher settings. Freke mentioned one of our local jewelers deals with Stuller settings though so I plan to go take a look. Asscher solitaires are surprisingly hard to find.
