As a totally clueless Jade buyer I limit myself to $250 online for things that look pretty. I can’t tell from photos if it’s treated or sometimes even the “in real life” colour (phones, cameras and lights do weird stuff). This ring I liked the 14kt gold setting and the apparent colour so I bid, low, and still won the auction (unexpected surprise to be honest). And here it is. No idea what tone or shade it is but it’s similar to my Columbian emerald. It’s nicely translucent. Rather pleased.

This is not Feicui or Jadeite. This is Yusui or Chalcedony. But still beautiful!

Ah ha. This is exactly why I only spend under $300. Im not upset btw, its still a lovely 14kt ring with a very pretty green stone.
