Soo...I tried my hand at an inspiration board. It's not close to half as nice as the others posted on here...but considering I didn't even KNOW what an inspiration board is until very recently, the improvement graph is looking damn fine!

ETA: My colours are dark peach, pale peach and champagne for a summer wedding at a winery :)

Aww, it looks so plain and blah. I think I''ll just have the admin take it off

i don''t think it looks blah! i think it looks like it would be a great wedding

you just need to find more things in your colors!

check out project wedding. if you click on ''photos'' you can search by color, or you can enter keywords (in case peach isn''t listed as one of them)!

It's nice, kama. Are you having any accent colours? I think a moderate green might work well with your colours - to give it a bit of punch, and to provide a contrast between the peach colours and the champagne. The green also fits in well with the winery theme..(or you could also do a wine/burgundy colour). The bouquet you have in your board is an example of how those colours could work together.

Mimzy: That''s such an incredibly resource! I just went through some of the stuff on the website and everything is so pretty. I was having a hard time finding things in my colours, but that site has a lot of helpful designs in the colours I want! Thanks so much!
Sha: I think some green in the peach would look nice. Let me try playing around with the colours. Thanks for the tip!

I feel a little hopeful now :)

Kama,

I may be WAY overstepping my boundaries here, but I love your color scheme and winery wedding idea so much that I made an inspiration board for it...hope it''s OK if I post it.

OH WOW! Thank you so much, Kellybell! I LOVE it! I was finding a hard time getting my colours into my inspiration board, and the one you made for me truly captures the essense I'm going for. THANK YOU so much! I'm going to tweak it and add some of my venue stuff onto it!

You girls are SO helpful!

ETA: Kellybell, I cant stop looking at the board you made me. It's so beautiful!

I really like your board! I think the green in that bouquet really helps to contrast the peaches and champagne... so I''d definitely recommend using some greenery in the bouquets. Do you have a dress and bridesmaid dresses yet? Add those in if you do!

Hmmm...after looking at the other inspiration boards posted today, I am really confused about what an inspiration board is. Is it a collage of things you're using/doing for the wedding or a collage of colours and something that gets the FEEL of the wedding?

Oobiecoo: You're right, I forgot about my dress

I'll add that in too! I'm not having any bridesmaids though, just a man of honour (my little brother). I agree with adding some green. I'm going to try finding pictures of peach and green flowers on that website Mimzy suggested!

kama - i love love love your colors! your wedding is going to be so romantic!!!! i still don''t know what my colors are going to be. i am having major issues with trying not to clash with my venue!

kama_s - I love your peach and champagne colors since those are the colors I''m wanting too! :) I am going to add some brighter shades (like the colors of a real peach) and also a bright shade of green.

kellybell - I LOVE your board. Would you please tell me where you got your pictures because I want to see them larger. Some of your pictures are exactly what I am imagining.

ILTW: Thanks hun! I guess it was easier for me because I in't have to co-ordinate with my venue (everything is cream coloured) and I dont have any BMs....did you end up deciding which colour to use for your BM dresses?

Guilty Pleasure: Yep, I'm using a darker peach as well...but I haven't been able to find any nice pics with the dark an ligh peach together. Let me try putting up some other peach stuff I have incase it helps you at all :)

Oh good! I''m glad you like it. As for your question about if an inspiration board is a collage of things you are actually using, or something that represents the "feel" of your wedding, I think it can be both! I carry around a copy of my inspiration board whenever I do anything wedding related to make sure that whatever I am selecting fits my general theme. Then, I update my inspiration board with actual things from my wedding as we finalize the details. I really think an inspiration board can be whatever you want it to be!

Guilty Pleasure - I got all of the pictures from a fabulous wedding blog that I stumbled upon: snippetandink.blogspot.com. The creator of the website posts the MOST inspirational pictures...really beautiful things.

I did inspiration boards when I was wedding planning, and I mixed things I liked with things I had already chosen. For example, when I met with my florist, I had an inspiration board I had made with me that had both my wedding dress (which I somehow managed to hide from my husband, haha), our wedding invitations, our venue, and a bunch of centerpiece ideas that I loved, as well as fabric swatches of our colors. It really helped our florist get a feel for what we were wanting, and she totally GOT us, so we were beyond happy with her work, too, and she said it made it a lot easier for her, too. The point of all my rambling is that your inspiration board can be whatever you want, and you ladies having a blast making them, try emailing them to your vendors. They''ll love you forever for helping give them a clearer picture of what will make you happy.

I love wedding planning! I wish I were engaged so my plans would finally take motion.

Kellybell and doodle: Thanks so much for your input! I FINALLY understand the purpose of an inspiration board. It would be a great idea to circulate it to some of my vendors (especially my florist and venue decorator). I have everything set in my mind, so I really should bring it down on paper to help my vendors understand my POV.

Dreamgirl: I used to sing that line ALL the time last Christmas just as a joke - since a lot of people kept asking Mr. Kama when he was going to propose. I did it just to tease him, but little did I know I was in for a Christmas proposal! Guess the joke was on me
