My Husband Is SO Mean!

CUTENESS OVERLOAD! I can barely stand it!

Congrats on your new kitty, enjoy the kitty love :kiss2::kiss2:

I really think you need "his" and "her" kitties. Tomorrow is Father's Day, I can't think of a better gift than a second ball of fluff ;)2.
I like the easy you think!

She is PRECIOUS. You got your foot in the door, you can work on getting her a companion (or two) later, because just LOOK at that face, she NEEDS a brother :kiss2: (I prefer boys, dont know why, altho I have pretty even number of boys and girls)

She is sooooo cute. I think what you are doing wrong is you are asking or telling your husband you are going to the pound getting the sweet kitty. I don't tell mine. He says hey presto another bloody cat/kitten or whatever just suddenly appears in our house. It's like magic. Hahahahah.

It might be time for the ultimate wifely threat: Be nice or you won’t get any goodies:devil:

There is a paucity of kitten pics in this thread.

@House Cat: In my opinion, your husband is very considerate and wise. He is allowing you to have a cat... and likely waiting to see how that works out. He is giving you an opportunity while minimizing the risk until he sees how responsible you can be (and I am sure you do the same back to him on certain things).

You want mean... (kinda). I won't allow my wife to have a cat at all.... Not that I'm actually mean... as I'm highly allergic to cats; and she actually gave up her cat to marry me (so she had a choice up front).

Have a purrfect day,

Perry

Oh That kitty is so cute! I hope she snuggles right in when she comes home monday!

I’m going to the pound today and I’m only allowed to come home with ONE kitten. :kiss2:

Who does that that kind of cruel crap to their wives?

That is unreasonable. You should be able to rescue more kitties!!

She has such a sweet looking face! Enjoy her! I'm no good at names. We have a cat named "Palmer" which was his name at the
pound since we couldnt all agree on a name :roll. I voted for Joe Joe for our cat but no one else wanted it:(sad.

How about naming her Josephine and calling her Josie?

What a precious little girl.

I just saw that you picked a kittie (or rather the kittie picked you!) Congratulations! She is beautiful!

I was a good and dutiful wife. I want him to say “yes” to my future visits to the pound. I have plans, lots and lots of plans. My youngest is 13 and I’m a stay at home mom. When he leaves for college, I will need company.

What should I name her? She was so precious! She was on alert due to all of the barking but I was able to get her to relax and purrrrr. At one point she rested her lil head in my hand and began to sleep and purr and i knew she was the one.

I can’t bring her home until Monday evening. The torture!!

House Cat, Talk about love at first sight!!! That little face is adorable. She looks like a Riley to me. Can’t wait to hear what you decide to name your new baby.

Please post lots more of pictures of her!!!

Good thing my fiance' loves cat, he's the one who encourages me to have one at home. Now, we have four lovely Siamese, they all get along so well and loves to spend some time inside the kittywalk.

Here you can find Snow, lying on the sofa set.

I just might have a youngest son named “Luke” and he just may have said that he wants to name his kitty sister, “Leia.”

He thinks it will go well with the title “Auntie” as well. All of my other children are in their twenties. We already have one grandchild. Plus, we give cards and gifts from the pets. We also give photos and t-shirts of the pets to family members because that’s how we roll. Auntie Leia?

I had kitten dreams for the past two nights! The waiting is torture! I get to pick her up at 4:00 pm today.

If you want to know the truth about pets and my husband, I can have all of the dogs I want. For some reason with him, cats are harder. I know he will love this baby. He didn’t like small dogs either and now honey, our chihuahua, is his baby. We’re at a point in our relationship where we honor what the other one wants. He does all the outdoor activities he wants and I will fill the home with rescued souls and buy jewelry. (I still can’t figure out how to take photos that honor the beauty of my upgrade!) He had to know this was coming...I have a tattoo of a cat! :kiss2:

We’ve actually rescued a lot of animals during the course of our relationship but we haven’t kept them. Something about us...lost animals make their way to our home. There was even a small kitten in one of our trees once! But we find their homes and return them to their owners. My big dog loves it. It’s all friends for her!

I think i’m Rambling because I’m so excited about this kitten! I’m sorry.

Do you all have advice for the best type of litter box for a little kitten? Do I just buy the smallest, open box I can find? Are there any supplies you felt were essential that weren’t the obvious food, food bowl, etc? I don’t want to miss anything. I have to keep her in one room for two weeks because of the dogs and the introduction process and I want to make her as happy as possible in there.

You are an expert at choosing unique names. I love them all!

Oh, I get it. My dog is named “Daisy” because no one could agree on a name for her. The previous owner named her “Daisy Duke!!!!” LOL.

We changed it to “Daisy Chain” which I felt was a much more suitable name for my tree hugging household.

Beyond that micro change, we couldn’t come up with any other change for her name.

I wouldn't bother getting plastic food bowls. I recommend using dishwasher safe bowls bc it's just so much easier. I feed and water my cats with corelle bowls from my set lololol.

Get the cheapest smallest litter box that's easy for baby to climb in and out of. In no time baby will graduate to a bigger box.

Try to get a poop sample to the vet. Sometimes babies still have worms or other fun bugs like giardhia. If you do need to do another round of treatments, make sure you bring in another poop sample after the round of treatments to verify that they did their job. These are lessons learned by mama the hard way lolol.

Awww @House Cat what a love! Congratulations on your new family addition. What a gorgeous and a lucky kitty indeed.:kiss2:

And your dh and my dh could start a mean dh club. My dh thinks 4 cats are really enough though he is wiling to go to 5 if I insist but he draws the line at rescuing 2 puppies right now...one day though we will have 5 kitties and 2 puppies in our family.8) Just wait and see. There is a way around mean dhs.:Up_to_something:

Meanwhile please post as many photos as you can of your beautiful new baby.:appl:

So excited for you! And I second @PintoBean's suggestions. Good advice.

Thank you for this! I would never have thought to send another stool sample to the vet!

I tried to feed her quality food..she wanted nothing to do with it. I had to go out and buy cheap cat food and sure enough, she gobbled it up.

She’s used the litter box twice. She had no idea what carpet was. She walked backwards on it with her limbs really high as if to say “WTF is this??!!!” Consequently, she doesn’t love the furry blanket I bough her. Every cat I’ve ever known has loved their furry blanket! My son’s cat won’t leave hers!

When I brought her out of her room and put her on my big fluffy down comforter, she walked on it with a confused and cautious look on her face and then peed on it.

I only have one more photo of her for now. Yes, I really do have a “lego yellow” room in my house. The people who lived in my home before me had a little boy and this was his room. I have just been avoiding the arduous task of painting it!

More photos coming. She is the sweetest thing, btw. Purrs with only one stroke and acts as though she just can’t get enough of you AND she gives head boops! She’s perfect!

She's so beautiful! My kitties love the furry blankets too. You need TOYS and a scratching post/mat. Maybe a bed. And cardboard boxes. And another kitty :)

I have all of that but the kitty!

She doesn’t care about any of it! She sleeps on the towel the pound sent with her. :cry2:

Umm... cats like things we'd throw away... like cardboard boxes. How dare you spend money on a furry blanket. Hahahahahahaa

Don't worry about the food. Right now so long as she's got a good appetite, that's what matters. My first cat would ONLY eat dry Iams or Science Diet. Had her from 1998-2017. Now with my 4 girls I obsess over brands and ingredients. Does that mean they'll live to 19? IDK. It just is more mind clean for mama... ughhh...

She is adorable!!! The people demand more kitten photos! :P2

Hahaha... "bed"
