My heirloom vintage engagement ring!

After some back and forth about my ring (I'll create another post some time with the different rings we looked at/purchased and vendors I talked to and worked with but this has been a but if a journey) including returning my original Edwardian old euro ring due to a secondary appraisal being just too far off my mother gifted me my great grandfathers diamond. My finace and I ended up choosing a beautiful 1930's deco flowery sunburst cluster setting that I am SO in love with. It's very us and I couldn't be more thrilled- with my lover and my ring.

Setting was polished up and I had him add a bezel to the top which worked well as the diamond is 7.5mm and the opening was more for a 7mm.

The diamond is interesting, it's a 1.5 carat, was appraised ten an fifteen years ago as a j then a k vs2 old euro, and it has a nice brown tint (which I personally prefer to yellow tones). The jeweler that set it locally appraised it as an m color, strong fluorescence Si1 transitional cut. It has a really nice cut in person, I can try to get some more pics but it's nice symmetrical chunky facets in a star pattern. I'm beyond happy with it!
