My heart sapphire in a custom Georgian setting

Pleased as punch to share photos of my new Jessica McCormack-inspired sapphire pendant!

My boyfriend bought me this stone a few years back. I had always wanted to set in a Georgian, Colette setting. When I took it to a jeweller, he went ahead and set it in a terrible, basic setting. I was horrified and vowed to avoid any custom work for the foreseeable future. The necklace sat unloved in my box.

Fast forward to 2020, I finally found a jeweller I trusted to bring the vision to life. I took the plunge and got exactly what I wanted. I had talked to Seiko and he quoted me at 3x what I ended up paying locally, which was another happy point for me.

No, it was a truly awful experience. He didn’t charge me much but it put a bad taste in my mouth. I never returned.

I have never been a huge fan myself! When dear boyfriend bought this for me I was scratching my head. And you should have seen the original setting

I've since learned that hearts often just need some TLC to help them shine. Brent Neale is another bench to check out for heart inspo.
