I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who made suggestions when I was looking for stones for my studs collection. I now have four really nice CS pairs. I want to preface the pictures by saying they do the stones no justice at all. I'm still learning to photograph gemstones. Add to that the fact I was only able to spend about 5 minutes on this and they're even worse for it. I'm moving from an island to the mainland Wednesday so I really have no time. After the move (and once things have settled) I'll try again for better photos. In the meantime here they are!

So the line up is as follows.
Sapphires, 4.6mm and 4.7mm. Heat only eye clean, almost loupe clean.
Tsavorties, 4.9mm, eye clean and almost loupe clean.
Pink Tourmalines, 5mm and I can't remember exact clarity but eye clean
Rubellite Tourmalines, 5mm and again I can't remember the stated clarity but eye clean

Here they are in my ID Jewelry jackets. I figured I should include a shot or two of them since my jackets are my favorite piece of jewelry (besides my wedding rings) and the reason I decided to kick off my gem buying by making studs. The side shot shows they do stick out a bit but I'm okay with it. It's actually less than how much my diamonds (also 5mm) stick out.

I don't know if pearls belong on the CS forum but here's a shot of those as well. They were purchased around the same time and were a place holder so to speak while my studs were being made up (they were supposed to be a birthday present and my husband wanted me to have something to open on the day). They're basic salt water white pearls from Na Hoku and they're 5.5mm and I tried everything and these fit exact, no airline but not so snug they'll get all scratched up.

Here's the last photo, one of each of my studs. There's also a few bonus pairs in there. I picked up a set with amethyst, peridot, and citrine studs from Macys. They were dirt cheap and I figured they'd do well to tide me over until I could get better ones made up.
Then I can pass them on to younger relatives.
