Here is a photo of an aquamarine and diamond pendant that I inherited from my grandmother. I really love it's shape and style but I'm afraid it's too light in colour and the window I'm the center is too big. What do you all think? Thank you!
I really love the color
Do you remenber your grabdma wearing it ?
Put a wee bit of tinfoil behind the stone ?
Does the help close/ reduce the window?
If it does a jewler can put some silver foil on the back of thr setting
someone else will be along shortly to explain it better
i dont think your granny was anywhere near old enough, but in Victorian- Edwardian times to see the skin through the window was ... well what ever the Victorian world for sexy was !
Aquamarine comes in all different shades of blue/green. Yours looks like a lovely clear calm sea. There are ways to minimise a window by changing the setting but unless you have it recut you won’t eliminate it entirely. If I were you I would love it just the way it is.
It’s very beautiful.
Because aquamarines are such a clear crystal, unless cut in more recent times, more often than not they have a significant “window”.
To me that’s just part of their beauty and charm.
My ring has a huge window but I love it just the way it is.
