My graduation ring is done! The pictures aren''t great since I had no daylight, though the last few are under my daylight lamp. I''ll take more tomorrow. The ring was made by Windy City Diamonds in Chicago.

Specs:

White gold, knife-edge shank
Size 3.5
Diamonds are 10-pointers for a total of 0.50 ctw

I do have a question for you guys - do you think it''d be worth going a little bigger? I''m basically playing with it this weekend and deciding on Monday if I want to keep it as is, or go up a bit (to maybe 12-pointer stones). What do you think?

Thanks!

Gorgeous ring!! I think that it''s perfect on your finger!! But then again, you can''t really ever go wrong by going bigger

I think it''s gorgeous! Going bigger is a personal preference, of course. If you think you want it a bit bigger and you can do it, then go for it!

I love 5-stone rings. This is one ring style that you can get the most sparkles without breaking the bank. Go for the biggest diamonds you can afford and your finger can fit.

The ring looks very nice on you, but I think you have room for bigger stones.

Purdy!

It looks like 1 ct coverage on your finger! I wonder if 12 pointers would really look that much bigger?

very pretty.

Thank you everyone!

Luckyshe and Motown - very true

Basically I want it to be as big as it can be without going over the edges of my finger!

Fancydiamond - I agree! Originally my grad present was going to be a small solitaire (like 0.4 ct.) to be put into a bezel or maybe halo setting. But I decided to go for max finger coverage on my limited budget and I''m glad I did!

Thanks Dreamer!

April - Thank you! That''s the thing - I feel like I''d really see a difference if I go up to 15 pointers rather than 12 pointers but I don''t know if that would be TOO big (i.e. side overhang) plus the cost jumps dramatically from 15 pointers on. Hmm...

Thanks Marcy!

Took the words right out of my mouth! It''s seriously gorgeous! As for going bigger...if you think you''ll notice the difference, I say go for it! Nothing wrong with even more diamonds!

Ooh congrats BEG!!

It looks perfect on your finger... like AprilBaby I wonder if going up would make much of a visible difference?

hi Brown.Eyed.Girl :)

i really like your new ring, but i think you've definitely got room to go up to 15 point stones, which would give you more of that classic 5-stone look as there would be a greater ratio between the band and the stones. so personally, i'd go up to the 15 pt stones if it's an option.

i *do* like your lovely new ring, tho, so it's a case of personal preference....

and congratulations on your graduation! :)

It''s pretty! You can go bigger, but I think it looks nice as it is too.

It''s lovely, congratulations - I would only go bigger if you can notice a difference

I agree with this! It''s lovely as it is but you could easily pull off the 15 pt stones!

Very nice, but I think you can pull off a slightly bigger look

If you are going to go bigger, go for the 15 pts.

Love it! I agree with the other ladies...go as big as you can. My 5 stone is .81 ctw (see avatar). I wish I had
gone bigger but I needed it to match up with my ering and the .81 was a perfect size.

It''s gorgeous! I''ve saved pictures of it (hope that''s okay!) because I have one I''d like to reset someday and I really love yours!
