Thank you so much for all of your comments. He truly did an amazing job. And we have pricescope to thank for that. We came across this site totally by chance and he got tons of good information including vendors. The setting is WF's Santorini and I just love the scrollwork and surprise diamonds.
As for the proposal, we were in NYC visiting family. About mid afternoon we met up with my parents and sister for lunch. At the end of lunch my mom and I slipped away to use the restroom and little did I know, my fiance asked my dad for permission while we were gone (I of course didn't find this out until after the propsal!). After a long day of family and some shopping, we headed back to our hotel and got ready for dinner, which was at The View restaurant atop the Marriot Marquis hotel. The restaurant, on the 48th floor, has a gorgeous view of the city, and slowly rotates so that you end up seeing everything throughout the course of your meal.
The restaurant had a very romantic ambiance with dim lighting, pretty quiet, and there was plenty of alone time between each course (it was a three course meal). It was right before dessert that he proposed. He had been saying lots of sweet things to me all night but leading up to the proposal it shifted towards loving me so much and wanting to spend his life with me. He got up, came to my side of the table, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I think my exact words were 'Yes! You're amazing" haha. It was such a special evening and to make it even more special, his mother was proposed to at the exact restaurant.
