Hello everyone,
I am a long time lurker of this forum. Before I begin talking about my GOG experience, I'd like to thank everyone here for all of their advice. The education that this board gave me was invaluable, and I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude towards you all.
I know that many here have posted that Good Old Gold is a wonderful place to do business with, however, I thought that one more testimonial couldn't hurt. Given how great I was treated, I want everyone who is unsure of buying their diamond from this particular internet vendor another assurance that it is a great move.
While I initially e-mailed Good Old Gold, I was interested in their August Vintage Cushion (who couldn't be?) but I wasn't ready to buy yet. I got an e-mail from Sarah answering all of my questions and even going so far as to give her input on how I could get the diamond I wanted. Whenever my fiance and I went to a brick and mortar store, I felt very pressured into buying a diamond there. (I even went so far as to give one place a fake phone number!) I can say that I NEVER felt pressured into making a purchase I wasn't 100% sure of from Good Old Gold. Sarah laid out my options, and gave her professional advice as to what diamond I should choose. I really can't say enough nice things about both her personally, and her knowledge and experience with diamonds.
I chose the diamond that I liked, and my fiance independently picked it out as something she loved. (The diamond is a .86 c M VS1 AVC)
Moving onto the setting, I was much more unsure of what I wanted. I knew the metal had to be platinum, due to a nickel allergy, and I loved the look of two prongs on the diamond. I asked Sarah for advice, and just like with the diamond, she gave me excellent advice and guidance. The setting I ended up with was a modified Vatche setting, with split claw prongs.
The setting looks amazing with the diamond, and of course, the most important thing - she loves it. She posted ring pictures in the following thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/0-86-m-vs1-avc-from-good-old-gold-im-engaged.178425/
If anyone has any questions or worries about dealing with Good Old Gold, please post in this thread. They really are an amazing company, and they have a great group of people working for them.
