My first sapphire ring

tourmaline_lover suggested I start a new thread on this one, so here it is!

The pictures simple don't do justice on this piece. Here are the stats:

Oval natural blue sapphire, measuring 11.18 x 9.29 x 6.04mm, approximate weight of 5.06 ct, SI
Color is dark, moderately strong, bluish violet.
18 fancy yellow brilliant cut diamonds = 0.35 ctw, VS1-2
107 round brilliant cut diamonds = 2.20 ctw, VS 1-2, G-H
total weight of ring = 4.60 dwt in 18k

I tried to take the pics in different lighting to give you an idea of the color. It's mostly dark blue with hints of violet, which I love.

Hope to find nice sapphire studs in the future with the same diamond pave around them.

What a gorgeous ring - very substantial and intricate. Was this a custom setting? The yellow gold and diamond accents really give it that appearance. Hope you find earrings to match - that will be quite a set!

It was a custom. My aunt actually had a fancy yellow diamond in it, but sold the stone. I purchased the sapphire since I've always wanted one and she gave me the mounting for Christmas!
