I am 28 and just purchased my first "real" dining room set- not random hand me downs!!! We ordered the table from Broyhill, and the chairs from Target. My hubby got home from work early today to put the chairs together for me to surprise me... He''s so sweet! (We''ve had no chairs for a week!) What do you think?

It''s gorgeous. I love the color of the wood- so rich. The chairs look fab. I love that style chair. Does the table have a leaf?

I love them! We have a really cheapy table and chairs from Ikea. I am talking the cheapest thing they do. I have promised myself I will buy a really lovely set when we move house.

Very nice...congratulations!

Yes, it has a leaf. It''s huge with it in though, so I think we''ll save that for birthday parties and such...

A friend of mine is looking for a round table with a leaf. She has a really small dining room, but needs a table to expand for when they have guests. I think one like yours could be a good fit for her. The color especially. I''m going to steer her Broyhill''s way.

Do you mean a rug to go underneath? Or a tablecloth/cover?... We were talking about putting a rug underneath it, but I love the floor, and I hate to cover it all up!! What would you do?

They really do look like they are a matched table/chairs set...very nice!

A protective pad for the entire table so that hot plates, coffee pot, etc. placed on the table don''t damage the wood. My first dining table was ruined (though it wasn''t an expensive one) when someone spilled wine on the table and later a guest put a hot coffee pot on the table instead of the trivet. We bought a new dining room set a couple of years ago (much more expensive) and we also got a table pad to protect our new set.

It is a custom made pad (though I think you can buy a pad at a store and cut it to your size) for the table including the leaves. The undeside can be either flannel or velvet and the top can either be a wood or leather grain finish. It truly protects the table. The place I bought ours has patterns for a ton of diningtable manufacturers on file so you don''t have to draw the outline.

In case you are interested here''s the link to the site where we bought ours. Also, if you call them they are quite helpful and will send you samples of the materials they use and color swatches.

Looks very Bernhardt. :)

Good for you! I did that around your age and it''s very sentimental. Just don''t do what I did and lose a piece of the set whenever you move. I lost a table leaf and am sick about it! It''s Broyhhill so I guess I could always try to order it somehow.

I wanted to replace the table but my teenage son won''t let me. He''s sentimental about it, too. Did a lot of homework on that table!

Can''t believe you bought the table and chairs separately! Looks great as a set - what a find!
