So, I''m super excited to finally show off my very first diamond. I have jewelry pieces with diamonds in them, but this is my very first loose diamond. It''s an OEC from Old World Diamonds. It''s .18 cts, H VS (OWD didn''t specify VS1 or VS2), and roughly 3.5x3.5. I''d been stalking this diamond for months, and when I finally had a reason to celebrate, I snagged it!

Quick question to anybody who has used OWD before: how long did it take for the stone to be taken off of the website? There is a little part of me that there are 15 of these floating around, and I just got one. I fell in love with the facets in their picture, and my little point and shoot isn''t advanced enough to really capture the facets, and I don''t have a loupe yet. I know it''s a holiday weekend, so I''m not really worried about it, but I''m a paranoid weirdo, so I just wanted to check with PSers.

It''s little, but just walking towards it when I went to get the camera I could see flashes from at least 5 feet away. That''s a lot of flash for a little baby diamond!

Another Christmas decoration wanted in on the action...my woodland smoker dude from Germany!

Seeing what it could do against a darker background. A little blurry, but you get the idea.

Oh, and your pics are fantastic!!!

I think it''s going to be a RHR. It''s marking something special for me, and I want to be able to see it when I wear it! It will take a while before I can set it, but I''m excited trying to figure out what to do with it. The thing that''s tough is finding a setting for such a small stone!

That is absolutely a beautiful stone!!! I hope you can find the perfect style of setting for the little guy soon

Oh my gosh, that is a really beautiful stone!! I can''t wait to see how you decide to set it! And I think your pics are so cute!

Oh that''s GORGEOUS Princesss!!!

It's lovely!

Jstar had an alexandrite that is 4mm and had it custom set in a lotus ring, and recently she bezeled a 3mm demantoid garnet. So setting smaller stones is certainly doable!

Congratulations on your first diamond! Beautiful! Love the pics, very creative, especially the one of the little box inside the bubble wrap!

Love the pictures!! It looks like a little beauty - can''t wait to see what you do with it.

Love it! But you knew that already!

What is Sally's Etsy shop? I always forget to bookmark it....a petite lotus setting could be really pretty.

And thank you ladies for all of the compliments.

It''s sure pretty! Enjoy your first loose stones; sometimes I feel sad about getting stones set because then I cannot play with them anymore

Really? I find I play with them more because I don''t have to worry about dropping and chipping/losing them! Haha.
