A few months ago, I brought a pretty little sapphire from a young jeweller friend. He offered to set it for me, and we went about designing a setting for it.

This is the end result. A 1.47ct sapphire, surrounded by a .34ct halo of VS1, G colour diamonds, set in 18ct yellow and white gold.

Lovely :)

Very nice!

Pretty :) It''s nice to see a set trillion :)

Thank you all.

It is unusual to see a trillion these days in Australia, outside of custom made jewellery, so it appealed to me from that aspect, then, it was a bit of a free form cut, so that held an attraction too.

There was a temptation to set it in a very straight sided setting, but in the end we followed the curves of the stone, and I am just amazed with it.

Looks really pretty

It''s so pretty!!! Do you have any closer pics of the ring?

Very pretty!

Pretty! I''d love to see some more detailed pics!

Hey, that''s really pretty! I love the halo with the thicker metal shank -- it''s really different with that trillion in the center! Ditto everyone else to more pics please!

That is pretty!!

Pretty! I''ve never seen a halo trillion before.

Thanks so much for the comments.

To say that I love this ring is an understatement. I have spent the whole day looking at my hand. And I just can''t wait to show it off at work tomorrow!!

I am going to have the same jeweller design and make a new engagement ring upgrade for me very soon. I have the aqua that I plan to use sitting in my jewellery box just waiting for inspiration to hit me.

very pretty and unusual ring. I love the colour of the sapphire...

Lovely color sapphire!

Very unique setting and your stone is a lovely color.

Very nice - a bit unusual, but still quite classic. I think you did right to follow the lines of the stone. That''s something I tend to suggest as it makes it easier to get a winning combination.

Pretty stone and setting. I''m attracted to trillions lately so it''s just great to see what you''ve done with one. What was the size of the unmounted stone? I mean mm not ct weight.

Thanks

Going off memory it was 5x7x7. I wasn''t really after a trillion when I saw this stone. I was hunting an asscher aqua at the time, an this was just a little "something" that the jeweller had on him and I fell in love

It''s a very moody stone, and I seem to only be able to catch it when she displays the teal colour. It flashes green a lot, and is a very intense blue at times too.

Love the stone, love the setting, LOVE IT!

Love the color of your stone, it is such a beautiful shade of blue!

We are very pleased to meet you. Your friend has made you a beautiful ring. We would very much like to see more of both of you.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. And thanks for the complements on the ring.

Pretty. Great color.

Trilliants are uncommon and I like what you''ve done with it. And a 2 tone setting to boot!
