Re: My fancy yellow double halo ring (i call her "Solestia")

Thank you everyone for the sweet comments! a lot PSers helped me from picking the stone all the way to the setting and CAD and everything! I can't be grateful enough! This is my first colored diamond and i have made all the right decisions because of all the helps you fabulous PSers offered!

Here are more pictures and the stats. hope this help other PSers that are considering a fancy yellow stone and a soleste setting.

start with the stone:
from leibish
0.91 fancy yellow (It is a lemonade and near intense fancy yellow)
SI1 eye clean
5.29 X 5.22 X 3.56 mm
polish/symmetry: ex/very good
no fluorescence
with GIA certificate
a little tip: i would suggest always ask the vendor to take a picture of the stone(s) on a white background before purchasing. it really helps to identify the true color of the stone.

and the setting:
set by Brilliantly engaged (ERD)
platinum and f/vs melees
ring size is 5.25
Chris worked with me all through the process. it was a pleasure working with him. he grasped fast what a customer wants and his people got all the skill set to fully meet that need.
everything of the setting is "tiffany style". the craftsmanship is a "wow"

I attached some pictures from an inside and kinda dim lighting at night (the ones i posted earlier was outside in the day). i hope these pics help show you how a colored stone looks in different lighting. I also tried to shoot from a little distance away to give you a perspective on how a ring looks "from others' eyes" - i wish my short little arms were a little longer though lol.

Re: My fancy yellow double halo ring (i call her "Solestia")

It's been a long time since a ring has made me want to wear a right hand ring. This is doing it! I've always loved a yellow diamond, especially a cushion in a soleste halo. Can you provide pictures of the gallery? Your ring is wonderful!!

Hey LLJsmom, here is the profile view. I happened not very much a "gallery gal" so i picked the simplest basket. i attached the pic for you to look. if you are interested in a more delicate and fancy basket, you could consider a yellow gold one so it helps to enhance the color of the yellow diamond. it is just one option though. some people prefer silver colored metal and they are beautiful too.

Re: My fancy yellow double halo ring (i call her "Solestia")

I appreciate it so very much for everyone's sweet comment!

and I hope to get help again from my fellow PSers - for the wedding band suggestions, and for sizing advice.

first of all, i attached a picture of the ring with my current wedding band. i dont think they are perfect fit. what do you think? do they go with each other well? need a new band? or rather wear the ring w/o a band?

as for sizing, i am not very sure if i want to wear it as an alternative ER or RHR, so i need resizing advice for both fingers.

if i wear this ring on LEFT ring finger, it takes some effort to get it through my knuckle - usually have to wet the finger so ring can go through. then after that it stays on snugly but comfy and doesn't spin much. so do you think this is a good size or shall i size it up maybe 1/4 or 1/2 size? to be honest it is a little painful to have to wet hand whenever i have to put it on or take it off.

there is no way i can put it on the RIGHT ring finger, though, mostly because of the knuckle. my right finger is about 1/2 size thicker than the left one. so does it mean i have to go up 3/4 to 1 size if i want to wear it on the right hand?

Thank you everyone again and I can't wait for the advice!

LOVE this ring, and love it with your current wedding band too - perfection!

Re: My fancy yellow double halo ring (i call her "Solestia")

Gorgeous ring!!

Regarding sizing, I think it is dangerously too small if you are having to put water on your finger to try and get it on and off. You'll definitely have to send it back to BE to resize it. If anything, I would want it a little on the loose side and add sizing beads if too loose. It is not good to resize a pave ring repeatedly as it can loosen the little stones. I would say you need to resize at least a half size and maybe a full size. My right ring finger is also a half size larger than my left and if a ring fits my right hand, I can manage to wear it on my left which I sometimes do. I really think you need to go to a jeweler and get your fingers sized before sending the ring back for resizing.
