My Engagement Ring, 1st and Final Upgrade (I promise!)

I've been married for almost 28 years, so I guess I shouldn't feel guilty of gotten two upgrades, should I?!?

Just like you all, I am mesmerized by how a nice cut brings out a stone's light and fire. I had always prefer the Round Brilliance Cut, but after seeing some nice Emerald Cut here, I'm tempted to get one for my right hand! Maybe one day...or maybe not...oh my endless desire!

PS: I have always enjoyed looking at all of your photos, just love how creative you all are; so please keep them coming!

Original E-ring - size 4.5 - 1.0C G VS1 (6.43x6.51x3.94)


Original E-ring with channel set ring - size 4.5 - (don't know its ctw)



1st Upgrade - size 5 - 1.9C G VS2 (8.00x7.95x4.82)



2nd (FINAL) Upgrade - size 5 - 2.73C I VS2 (8.97x9.00x5.56)




I am working on getting a couple of stacked rings, got one already; will post more pix when done!

It had crossed my mind to trade them in multiple times, but I really love them both and can't part with them. I still wear them in the house once a while and look at them often at night. Having a friend in the business helped, but he has retired and moved to Vegas last year; so yeah no more upgrade! Besides, I don't think a bigger size would look right on my finger, the 2.73 is already a push IMO.

I love love love your final upgrade!! You remind me of myself and my diamond quests. Our 30th anniv. is coming up soon and I NEED a final upgrade. I started with .50 carat. At ten years upgraded to 1 carat. At 25 years got a 1.64 carat, but I have serious diamond shrinking disease and need a bigger rock for my big size 7 finger. I'm eyeing a 2.6 carat that my husband doesn't know about yet......hehehe. I regret not just going for the bigger diamond earlier. I refuse to go down in quality with cut, clarity, color, etc. I'm a long time lurker on periscope, and I just loved seeing these photos. Congratulations to you and I'm in love with your wedding band by the way!!!!

Hmmmm... it's a pretty ring, for sure. Maybe it's the photos that make it appear like a moissy?? Either way, congrats on your upgrade!

No you shouldn't feel guilty, you should feel lucky! Plenty of us on here have upgraded more than once over the years of our marriages. All of your rings are quite lovely, but of course the latest upgrade is a real show stopper. Enjoy wearing that beauty and be proud of it.
