My Emerald Cut!

Hi,

I have been reading this forum a lot and love the resources available here. I got engaged on Thursday and I thought I would share my ring. I told my then boyfriend that I wanted an Emerald Solitaire sized at 1ct with a solitaire band.

This is what he gave me!

Emerald Cut, 1.81, D color, VVS1

We are getting married quite soon on July 2nd/3rd. My ring size is 4.75. What kind of wedding band should I get?

The best part about your band is that you have so many options. Have you seen the step cut bands? Or you could do pave, plain, engraved, colored stones...the options are endless!

I'd do a search on emerald cut erings and look at pics of them with all the bands. Then go try them on and see for yourself. I know jewels by Erica grace has a step cut band on their site now...it's beautiful and would look great but anything you gets going to be beautiful.

for a wedding band, i really like the look of a pave band with a step-cut solitaire, its a nice contrast i think. Not necessarily super thin, maybe something like the tiffany novo band?

What a lovely ring! Your EC is gorgeous! They are my absolute favorites.

I think my EC e-ring is in my avatar right now, and I decided to go with an eternity band of bezeled RBs for my wedding band (each is .035 ct). I like the contrast between the big step cut and some sparkly smaller RBs. A friend of mine has an EC in a solitaire setting, and her wedding band is a five-stone with .25 ct rounds. They look great and super-blingy together.

You have a TON of options for a wedding band. I love eternity bands and I think an eternity with RBs would look great. Or with asschers. Or emeralds. I'd go to a jewelry store and try on lots of different styles and see what you like best.

as far as wedding bands...try some on! a plain band could work well or you could get any number of types of eternity band...

I prefer custom route for an emerald solitaire ring cause I don't like big gap. I love small gap but for an emerald it's always a big gap and IMO it's less beautiful.

Congratulations on your engagement! Your ring is perfect! If your gorgeous ring were mine, I think I would go with a baguette eternity band that matched the width of your e-ring band. Or I would go with a round bezel eternity, like Kittybean suggested.
