My Emerald Cut Diamond

Finally managed to get some photos of a few of my rings. So here goes - the beginning of my "collection".

I don''t think I had mentioned this one on PS yet. It''s an Emerald Cut, 2.26 (or right thereabouts) F color, VVS set in a platinum A. Jaffe setting with tapered diamond baguettes on either side.

We took these photos outside trying to get some natural light. It was about 5:00 though so the light was starting to go. So - sorry for the greenish cast everything has!

I swear the thing looks tiny to me on my hand - long fingers - but it looks much bigger in these photos so that makes me happy.

Here''s the whole setting. I absolutely love the square bottom - I wish all of my rings had that! (And I told y''all I broke all my nails this week.)

I wear it sometimes with this sapphire band. It''s a vintage piece and has pave diamonds on the side. Sorry for hurting your eyes with my super pale skin! I really am that pale unfortunately.

Thanks Madam! I really think proportion is very important when putting together an emerald cut ring. I hose the center stone because of it''s longer shape. There was another, really pretty emerald cut stone that was actually much bigger looking. But it was also much more square. Since I already had an asscher it was really important to me that my emerald cut looked like an emerald cut and not an asscher.

Thanks Evelynn & Mercoledi - I liked the setting when I chose it but I have liked it even more as time has gone by. The detail on the band really adds to the ring overall I think.

Don''t worry Skippy - I''ll post my asscher asap. I just happened to have the EC on and grabbed my hubby and out the door we went. Gotta take my chances when they come.

He actually didn''t mind helping out so I''ll probably get more photos this weekend.

I would LOVE to have that ring!! I actually plan on having a "copy" made someday & I recently purchased a red garnet pear that is in the mail to me right now. I can''t wait to see it. I think I have found a jeweler that I think could handle making something like that so....it''s just a matter of time & $$.

I will def. get some fire shots! The other day when I was wearing this ring it was shooting huge full spectrum raibows. I had never seen that before - at least not that big - so I was fascinated. I guess the wide facets make big rainbows.
