I got my ring today from Brilliance. It’s absolutely beautiful and they followed my setting instructions to a T.
I worked with Jen thru the whole process and she was excellent, responsive and kind.
The LGD is 2.75 carats G VSI GIA certed with a LW ratio of 1.5.
I was thinking of going even bigger but it was the first emerald I liked when I started looking and it got the Karl approval. I also got it for a fabulous price on Brilliance (I originally found it for more money on Ritani).
I had them set in a plain platinum setting Jen suggested and Brilliance did a great job with my modifications. I wanted claw prongs and the Diamond set medium height like a Berricle ring I had, also they added two rubies into the inside shank of the ring.
I’m very very happy with the overall transaction.
I was thinking of having David Klass customize a platinum setting for me but this setting is actually perfect.
Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my thread and helped me pick this Diamond. CAF9A19E-7051-4328-B0F4-588F15B53C24.jpeg C51F5E0C-2D78-4627-B950-2D9000195FC2.jpeg

Thank you so much everyone. I’m really loving this Diamond. The ring setting also seems very sturdy and well built. It’s definitely not a flimsy ring.
I love the subtle sparkle that an emerald cut gives off. It’s just a very elegant cut imo.
I’m almost regretting not going bigger but I think for my lifestyle it would be too “fake” looking.
I’ll have to post photos next to my berricle. The berricle is 2.6 carats and a D color.

I’m a size 5.5. I asked them to make it a loose 5.5 in case my finger swells when it’s hot.

Thank you everyone! I’m updating this thread with more photos I took.
I insured my ring with Jewelers Mutual for those thinking of insuring their lab rings. They didn’t give me any issues.
Two things I notice with emerald cuts are they are kind of hard to keep clean (I can see specks of dust and stuff, probably also depends on the setting) and I can’t seem to find a band that looks good with it.
Right now I’m wearing it with a CVB french cut band which I think looks nice. Also I have plain bands that look nice but I’m not sure a round Diamond band looks good with it. 74698D1C-1311-4841-B9A7-0A1E4E603023.jpeg 5F005A2C-41E1-4061-9B55-6CBF1886CF22.jpeg A954D7A6-8AA5-49BC-B483-3E9E624DD537.jpeg 588BF08E-88B4-432E-9BCB-286415EC0C08.jpeg 93AB2D5C-D30B-4E38-9E48-461A215B702C.jpeg B15F5BAB-7DD0-4ECD-A559-41F81015C870.jpeg

Step cuts in general do tend to show more dust / oil / fingerprints, etc. It's the nature of the facet arrangements. Has nothing to do with it being a lab - it's still a diamond, and earth-mined have the same issues.

It's beautiful!

I find my ec shows dirt too. The round brilliant is much better at hiding dirt.
