My girlfriend and I met in Atlanta during graduate school and we''ve both moved away to Michigan for more school (she is in med school and I''m pursuing a PhD). I told her that we should go back to Atlanta for New Years to get out of the cold and see some friends who had recently bought a new house outside of ATL. I got reservations at an Italian restaurant that we went out on one of our first dates. Afterwards, I took her to Centennial Park (where the Olympics were held), which was the scene of our very first date. I had wanted to go ice skating there, as we did on our 1st date, but it was too warm. The park had Christmas lights, so we just walked around and found a quiet park bench. I went down on one knee and truthfully I can''t even recall what I said. She started crying immediately and she said yes. We met some friends at the revolving restaurant for some drinks at the top of the Westin (80 stories and a terrific view of the city). I had 4 dozen roses waiting for her there. She was very surprised, but happily so.
WOW WOW WOW
I love this ring SO MUCH!!!! I have been dying to see one of GOG''s square cushions!!!!! It is absolutely gorgeous, and your girl is a lucky one!! I love that you proposed in Centennial Park -- ''cuz I live in Atlanta. My BF and I were quite boring (not for us, but for most) for New Years -- spent the evening at Bluepointe in Buckhead -- very nice!
