My diamond is loose and does not seem to be fixable!

My diamond felt loose in my engagement ring, so I got it repaired. A couple of months later it felt loose again! it felt as if it was sliding back and forth in the setting. Thinking that the first jeweler did the job incorrectly, I took it to another jeweler in town. They fixed it again. A couple months later it felt loose again! We had since moved, so I took it to a 3rd jeweler! It felt loose again after a couple of months. I have not been wearing it for fear that I should loose the the diamond. I took it out of the drawer a couple of days ago and it no longer felt loose. what is going on!? It has been repaired for the same thing 3 times!!!! Why won''t it stay fixed?! or why does it feel fixed at sometimes and not others? Could change in temp effect how secure the setting is? It is in a platinum setting and has an unusaul setting, where the platinum comes up over the sides of the diamond.

It may not be a problem at all.
I have seen designs where the diamonds deliberately move

Garry may be right. It also might be that the design of the ring will show some inherent fault or weakness when you post the photo. Almost every problem has a "fix". If you feel out of resources and if I see a photo of the ring, maybe we can offer to get something worked on for you that will truly make it stay put. Sometimes that "fix" call for a slight modification of the way toe ring is made or the way the stone is set. We'd be glad to look to see if there is a cure that might be offered.
