I found these rings on Craigslist, and I took them to my family''s jeweler to have them looked at. He told me that they are around I in color and SI2. Does this seem to be correct? The center stone is .71cts, but I do not know anything about the cut. He also did not comment on the wedding bands. He just told me I got a good deal on them. I am really hoping to reset the center stone into a halo setting for an engagement ring. Would it be possible to use the other stones for the halo or a wedding band?

Here is just the women''s ring.

There is no way anyone can judge the colour or clarity by viewing a photograph - it needs to be louped and compared to a diamond master set. As for the re-use of the diamonds, I think they are too large to be used as halo stones but would be great in a wedding band.

ditto!

You might be able to use the diamonds out of the man's ring for a halo but its really hard to tell what size
they are from this angle.

EDIT - I just noticed...are those rounds in the engagement ring made to look like marquise? On one side
they look like they are 2 rounds with prongs at the ends to make them look pointed like maquise. But on
the other side of the main stone they actually look like marquise. So which are they?

They are two round stones put together and made to look like a marquise stone.

No advice, but they sure are pretty

Thanks, I went to my jeweler today, and he said that he can definitely use the stones from the men''s ring and the stones from the engagement ring for the wedding band. The stone''s on the women''s band are too large to use for the wedding band, and I think it would just look weird with two different sizes of stones.

You might want to check this thread out before you write off that idea entirely:

Nice find, by the way! Have fun playing with your new treasures!

That ring is gorgeous! Do you think that kind of ring would look good with a halo engagement ring? Or I could always just have something like that made to just wear as a wedding band by itself. What do you think?
