Well I finally got around to setting the 5.05ct peridot from Dana at mastercutgems that hubby did as my surprise Christmas pressie.
The setting is from ebay vendor royal-jeweller and the peridot was set by my favourite local jeweller Michael.
The peridot was a little too deep for the setting so Michael did some adjustments and cut away the metal work at the central base of the ring to make the stone fit and I am beyond happy at the end result.
The setting was exactly as I hoped from the vendor's description and I will be definately using them again.
The diamonds are G-H colour & SI1-SI2 which I thought might be a problem cos Im a diamond clarity freak but they are so small that the clarity really isnt an issue (big lesson learnt for me)
This is the largest colour stone I have so far and I did wonder if it would be too "blingy" but I really love it and might be suffering from 'shrinkage syndrome' on my 1ct stones now LOL
The colour of the peridot is the perfect "leaf green" that I was looking for. There were also 2x 2.22ct peridots from Dana in my "surprise" parcel from hubby and I gave them to a friend who's birthday is in August and she is equally impressed with the quality of stones and the cut (Dana, you will be getting a new customer!)
Anyway enough talking - here's the piccies
