@Burmesedaze I haven't opened this thread for ages... I am only now seeing the bangles, and the one you are holding against the light (black stipes & purple) is the one I would have asked about, we must agree about a few things.

It's mostly grey and black in the day. I call it my drama bangle :o) it's a piece you either like or hate and creates a statement when worn.

Hey there Seaglow!! Long time so see!
Honestly, I had to look up what an AJP was. "Imagine greeting customers with assurance. Answering questions with poise. Providing knowledge and excellent service." From the GIA site. You could have done this anyway but it's nice to have the paper to prove it.

And a GG! Yay!:appl:

I'm remembering the first time you posted your - um, well, I'm TRYING to remember - your bracelet from good old dad, was it a rhodochrosite? On a gold chain? So it seems to me that you come by your love of gemstones from a good source. Anyway, I've learned so much from your cheerful posts and love following along when you buy astonishing stuff. Don't stop!!

ETA: I'm assuming a lot here, but I love that you seem to pursue knowledge for the sheer joy of it, rather than out of necessity. Many of us here on PS do the same but I'm too old and decrepit to pursue a rigorous formal degree. I stuffed my head full of horse knowledge for decades and sometimes wish it had been gemstones instead. LOL, I'm your girl if you ever want to start riding!!
@suzanne2 the last time I rode a horse was Mid this year in Bhutan. The terrain was rough but it’s so nice you can do it all the time! I’m assuming you have at least one Or go to a nearby riding club!

@Burmesedaze ive never asked what your fave bangle is! Coz it keeps adding up every week. Lol. Wear some when we meet fro eye candy. :)

8.69ct untreated Umba colour change sapphire picked up from Seaglow last week!

Windowed with dust like specks of inclusion but I think a good basket and enough melee bling will sort out most of it!

It took me a bit to find my way here. You have a beautiful bangle collection. I am especially fond of the floating flower with a highly translucent background. It would be wonderful to watch it change in different lighting.

@Burmesedaze I love the soft colored stack of bangles. The new lavender and black bangle is very interesting and pretty. So many different looks.

Thank you. Yes jadeite is very varied :)

The lavender and black remind me of amethyst. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Jadite is so rare in the USA that Pricescope is my first exposure to all of the beautiful types of jade. Commercially we see dull olive green nephrite stone that is less than inspiring.

This is so wonderful.

I really love wide tyre cuts for jadeite bangles. They are scarcer now owing to limited material and are mostly in more opaque rather than icy material.

Popped by my jewellers today for 10min and walked away with this! They brought in a mutual contact I also know whose husband has jadeite mines in partnership. They cleared out a warehouse and found a lot of forgotten jadeite bangles. Big size. Old stock. WIDE TYRE CUT.

This is half bluish grey lavender and half whitish base. Fine grain glutinous base. Love the contrast and the look of it is reminiscent of marble. No cracks and the bluish lavender has a couple of what looks like fine water tracks which aren't distracting and add to the swirly marble feel. Slightly over 62mm in diameter.

Going again tomorrow to check them out thoroughly! Because the owner said to just sell for whatever makes sense (since topnotch ones were sold long ago and profits already made on the material), got this in the low hundreds :)

Envy!

Still on my star sapphire roll.

Pair of 5 ct (total weight) light pink star sapphires with good asterism and translucency from Mogok. No treatment.

They ought to pair nicely with my blues. Vendor's photos.

I bought non wearable stones today.

A paperweight sized rock with marble, apatite (colourless crystal bits) and hackmanite (lavender bits).

The Mogok trader threw in a few spinel crystals and 1 chrome diopside (which they euphemistically call Mogok emerald).

My MIL and sisters are rock collectors. They would love this. My first year of marriage I got my own red hematite sphere so I can officially have my own rock. Lol.

Thank you for looking. If 55s look loose on me and I want a closer fit like how your bangles look like on your hand, do you think I can go smaller than 54s or should I stick to 54s to be safe. Sorry I didnt ask you more clearly last time about size?

Depends on your knuckles and how soft your bones are. But most of my slim friends have the bangles loose around their forearm because any smaller and it wouldn't go over. There are a number of sites with measuring tricks on finding bangle size you could try to gauge.

Also, I find my hands contract in the cool weather like now so I can go down 0.5mm. But during normal warmer months I can't fit into them. So personally I rather go for a larger size unless OFAK or very limited material or a darn good buy.
