Hello all,

I am so excited to have found this site and have been lurking until I worked up the courage to post. I've always loved antique jewelry (I'm an old soul at heart).
Pls see photos of my engagement ring - am told it is from 1935 but would love to hear what you experts think about the diamonds. It doesn't ever seem to give off a yellow tinge and they are very very sparkly.
The appraisal I received states they are 0.5 OECs each surrounded by 0.5 in the surround for a total of 1.5 carats. I wear a size 7 so although the diamonds aren't large, am happy with overall finger coverage.

Thanks!

Welcome to ps kab! Your ring is very pretty and it does give a lot of finger coverage if half carats.

Very pretty and lots of finger coverage. I really like how the design of the two circles coming together was worked out, kind of a figure 8.
I really love the designs of that era and how it's more about a beautiful design that simply a solitaire's size.

It looks in very good condition too. Did you participate in choosing your e-ring?

Congratulations!! It is a beautiful and unique setting - Very nice!!! And you are right - it gives GREAT finger coverage!! what are you considering for a wedding band? I see a fitted band with melee and milgrain!! yum!!!

Thank you all for the kind words. To answer questions yes, I did help choose it (I love my future husband but there was no way he would have chosen that on his own.) I do love the idea of a solitaire and I always expected to go that way but when we walked in the antique jewellery store this one literally "spoke" to me. I love the idea that it was a pairing with what looks like an eternity symbol wrapped around it. It just had such a lovely symbolism to it that my dreams of a honking solitaire went out the window. I have to admit though, I've seen some AMAZING rings on this site and can see me wanting one in a few years time...
And yes Enerchi - that is exactly the wedding band I envisage...excellent call.

That ring is awesome! Congratulations! It does make an eternity shape which is really neat, you have it for forever! :)

I love it!!!

I think it is stunning! I saw a ring very similar years ago that looks almost exactly like yours but instead of 2 diamonds it had 1 diamond and 1 ruby. I didn't have the money at the time to purchase it, but I think about it all the time. It was definitely the one that got away.

I just love your ring!  :naughty: YOu should post about it in SMTB!!!

That is very beautiful and different.

It's lovely! I think a fitted band is going to be wonderful with it!

Well... I don't know what happened. I just finished typing a long gushing review of your ring and it's gone. pooey. Sorry, but I'm just going to give the condensed version.

Your ring is AMAZING! As you can tell from my avatar ring, I LOVE this style of ring.

My ring is about 100 years old. OEC center and tiny OMCs in the halo. It originally held 2 diamonds, but somewhere along the way someone put the pearl in it's place. I'm guessing because a diamond replacement would have been too expensive. I've thought about replacing my pearl with a diamond, but the pearl is my husband's birthstone, so I have a special attachment to it.

I would have to guess your ring is about the same age as mine due to the style, but I'm no expert. But i do just love love love love love it! Congrats!!! :appl:

Congrats!

Very pretty indeed! Can we see more photos - like 6 or 7 more

Gorgeous! Congratulations!

LOVE! I personally LOVE twin stone/bypass/toi et moi rings so I think this is absolutely adorable :appl: :appl:

May you always wear it in happiness and love!
