Ok, so this belonged to my mom..it was in her 2nd engagement ring to my dad (dont ask lol..and no they arent married anymore) and she gave it to me.. I loved the setting it was in, but it was in yellow gold and all of my jewelry is white gold/silver so I never really got the chance to wear it.. We had thought to use it in my engagement ring but decided against it. But Id love to use it for something else. Im thinking a RHR.. Im in love with the Tiffany Swing Ring..BUT i want aquamarines/blue topaz instead because mine and FF bdays are in December and wanted to add that in, and also use it for my something blue when I get married.. Ive found bands like the tiffany one, but was wondering if I could take out some of the diamonds and put blue stones in, if thats even possible?? Also, I was thinking maybe a halo, but the halo have aquamarines/blue topaz instead of diamonds, what do you think?
here is the first pic.. mind you it has a chip in it (not sure if it always did or the people did it when they took it out and lost it for 4 hours...grrr

but a prong would cover it so Im not that worried...

Rather than buying Tiffany and taking some of the diamonds out to put blue stones in you may want to check if a local or internet jeweller could make it for you from scratch. I like the idea though, very pretty ring and stone.

Would you consider resetting it into a pendant necklace?

Are you considering cutting the diamond up and putting it into your band? I''m just a little confused... I would try and keep the diamond whole...

But the band certainly is lovely!

Or you could get a pendant made with the aquamarine/blue topaz stones around the center diamond and wear it as a necklace... then you could get the tiffany band with the blue topaz stones and have a matching set.

Are you looking to use the diamond in a RHR AND get a swing ring of blue stones? Or use the diamond in the swing ring (but it''s not blue, so I''m a bit confused)? I think your diamond is too large for the swing ring, you could put it into a vintage style halo -- the Tiffany Legacy style is nice. Then if you want, have a swing-style ring made using either aquamarine OR blue topaz -- I wouldn''t use both, and I''d alternate with diamonds. Wear them on separate hands -- the swing ring looks great stacked with other diamond bands, so you can start a collection!

You could do something like this- these may be bad examples... but instead of having a colored stone in the middle, surrounded by diamonds.... but the diamond in the middle and surround it with colored stones...

Just an idea!

hey sorry i confused yall... I want to keep the diamond whole.. I was thinking maybe I could get prongs attached to it, not sure if that could work though..and set the diamond. I obviously wouldnt buy the tiffany one, is like 4gs lol... I kind of like this band, do you think I could have a jeweler attach prongs to set the diamond on it??

or this one i was thinking I could take out some diamonds and put aquamarine or blue topaz in...

who do you think I could get to make this setting for me.. except I want aqua or blue topaz instead of the sapphires?!?

Okay, I think I get what your after -- but I''m still confused!! You want to buy an existing Tiffany swing style ring, take out some diamonds and replace with blue stones, and add your solitaire to that band by soldering a head of prongs onto that band. But I''m still confused about the Fay Cullen style antique halo rings -- is this just another option for your solitaire if you don''t do the swing ring thing? I personally like the halo rings for your solitaire, and the swing ring without an added solitaire.

I think either of these ideas sound very nice. I was actually looking for a swing style ring for myself as my wedding ring (if i remember correctly, i think there are a few on faycullen and some made by Beverly K - check pearlmans jewelers). I think if you take a picture to a jeweler it would be easier to have this made than to buy one and have it altered. I also like the idea of a halo, faycullen always has beautiful style halos''s in my opinion but i hear they have a not so great return policy. I think the halo style would stand out more as a right hand ring, whereas the swing ring with the added center may look like another engagement ring. The halo may also help to protect the stone if it has a chip in it. I attached one of my favorite tacori halo''s with sapphires and diamonds. I like how it is a halo but with a twist.
So, not sure if this really helped you, but I think either way you will have something beautiful when it is complete!

Winfield''s Signature Line

Wink Jones could help you out with this. His bench creates amazing pieces (at reasonable prices), and I''m sure they would be happy to help you put blue stones into the halo.
