Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I have been up and down the east coast looking for an authentic antique engagement ring. After about twenty stops we came across this beauty! It was traded by a customer to this specific jeweler because she had no attachment to her grandmothers ring. Any fellow antique lovers who can provide a guess on what period this is from? Real or repro? From what I gather this seems to be 1 carat old European cut(?), well worn, possibly platinum (so the jeweler tells me but no makers mark), and hand made (the decorations are far from perfect!)....(although I understand there are a lot of good reproductions)! My guess is Edwardian....regardless, I am in love with it. I wanted an old ring with a story...I’m hoping this is it!

If you could post some clearer close ups - face on for the stone especially, it would be easier to tell.
However it looks pretty much like you say and is a lovely ring. Congratulations on your engagement!
