I purchased a .83/I/SI1/ACA from Whiteflash over the weekend. I wish I can write a long story of all the problems and how I solved them -- but, I had no problems!!. In fact, the entire process was quite smooth.
I knew what I wanted (6mm diameter, H&A). I selected a few from the .7 to .9 range and emailed Leslie. We sort of settled down on the .83 (2 days). I decided to visit them (both of us are in Houston).
Their office is on Richmond and I had a chance to speak to Brian. He had just returned from Russia speaking at a "cutting conference". He has strict ideas on what is a H&A and shared some of them with me (This is also online at https://www.pricescope.com/hearts_indx.asp. The person in the picture is Brian).
The stone looks like a VS2-1/G-H and I am thrilled with it. We compared with a VS2/G (also a ACA), but both seemed too similar and I choose the I/SI1. My wife is thrilled with it and thinks it is stunning.
They also rushed to get me the stone in time for mother''s day -- turn around of just 3 hrs.
Will definitely buy again from them. Brian knows his stuff. Apparently he has 0.02 carat stones that are ACA. This is a bit too mind-boggling for me (They are a set in a wedding band).
My advise to people
1. If you live in Houston, try to visit them. WF was very accomodating to get me in and show me my stones. It is easy to pick a few upfront and choose in there.
2. Irrespectively, buy based on cut. It is worth it!
3. Strongly recommend WF!
Cheers,
TG.
