Posting in RT as I''m not sure IS/CADs are welcome in SMTR Juli at WF was fantastic to work with. For anyone considering WF, she''s efficient and has fantastic bedside manners, which come in useful when ones customer is as prone to worrying as I tend to be. My stone at the time was a very bright, shallow stone, and I knew when I started my search (late June) that I wanted an FIC. There was nothing that met my nitpicking requirements in ACA/ES stock, so I had my first experience with the virtual inventory. This is stressful, as anyone who''s used it will know: you''re never sure whether the stone you''ve fallen for is actually available or not, but some ten days in Juli reserved one! Sidestones chosen later.

I wanted a three stone trellis, but I don''t like the way the four prongs make the smaller sides look square from afar. I also wanted the centre to have six prongs. Joe did a great job

I have an EYE CLEAN SI2! The inclusion plot is pretty ugly, and the twinning wisps show up clearly when the stone is photographed. In real life, though, I can see one of them if I look through the table at JUST the right angle from maybe five inches from my eyes, and believe me, I''ve been staring! I can see all three - and more - through the pavilion, they look like faint white lines randomly scattered throughout. Neither I nor my FI can see anything from further than that. I chose a setting that would hide quite a bit of the pavilion as I was concerned about the colour and inclusions showing: I needn''t have worried.

The I colour barely shows through the pavilion, and face up - white, white, white! despite the Sl.Thick-bordering-on-Th faceted girdle and the impressive depth. I don''t know how much my Indian dark skin plays into that... My sidestones are H, centre I, earring J - I think in this pic you can really see the (albeit faint) differences. It surprised me quite a bit that despite the size of my stone, it looks visibly less tinted IRL than my small .5ct J stud... I can see the colour easily in the stud without comparing with other diamonds, maybe it''s a low J and my I is a high I?

This thing is a FIREBALL. I took a walk out in the sunlight - oh, my. My old stone was a C/P 33.5/40.6 combo, and even though I''m going on memory, there is a clear difference in the amount of fire I see. This stone has activity - colours, and flashes - in its depth that I''ve never seen in a diamond before. On the other hand, my old stone was a white dot regardless of where I was, and this stone is much dimmer when I hold it out in the almost-dark bedroom. I wanted an FIC, so the smaller face-up size for carat and less brightness were easy sacrifices.
