Okay here's what I would do - I would get some studs - not the max size (You have big - I'm going for something different here) but a somewhat modest size and then get a) a halo jacket set to make them big and blingier and b) danglies that attach by just slipping the post through a hoop. Three earrings in one - and without either addon you would have a set that you could wear anywhere that isn't tooooo flashy for those times when modesty is preferred for safety or respect. But of *course* I'd get the biggest ones you could get and still get the jackets and the danglies lol
I love this idea! It leaves you with a few different options, including dangles you could wear with your other earrings.
I LOVE the idea of jackets too; thanks, Lilac and Sara.Date: 2/11/2010 8:08:42 AM

I was going to suggest halo earring jackets also - I've seen some gorgeous ones (and the BGD ones look amazing - http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/home/ring-details/?product_id=5412 ) and they REALLY add size and sparkle to studs. I would get the biggest studs and jackets you can get with the budget - and then you can wear them together for a more substantial and sparkly look, or the studs themselves for a more modest look.
Here is a link to Bliss's earrings (I hope she doesn't mind me posting it - I remember seeing these and falling in love with them!) and even though they're not a jacket that can be removed, I think studs with halo jackets would look very similar. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/custom-halo-diamond-studs-yipee.117126/
Ha ha, I've already had most of them shipped off for sale!! That's what I meant earlier when I said that I was selling some other jewellery. And I gave some to my sisters and nieces. Two other pairs are/ were at BGD's. Out of one pair, one diamond is to be recut and reset into a pendant, the other has been put up for sale. The other pair is to be reset into an eternity ring.Date: 2/11/2010 8:35:37 AM

Since you're only planning on wearing them while your ears heal, why not just get fakies? Is it REALLY worth 10K to you to sport new bling for a few measly WEEKS? When they'll probably sit UNWORN after that - since you already have so many earring options?
Also, I find it a bit hard to believe that in your extensive collection of jewels that you don't *already* have a lightweight enough option to wear while healing.Maybe take another look, hmmm?![]()
