#1: I am considering purchasing a Tacori ring that is size 6.5 and cannot be sized because of engravings circling the band. How much could the ring be sized down with sizing beads or sizing bars? Could the ring be sized down as much as 1/2 size through this method?

#2: The Tacori ring is now mounted with a 6.5mm CZ, and I would want to replace it with a 1 carat diamond (Whiteflash or Gavin H&A, so it should have reasonably normal dimensions). How difficult and expensive would this be? The CZ is currently set in a normal 6 prong tiffany looking basket on a more elaborate ring.

I probably would not consider bothering under normal circumstances, but the savings on the setting would amount to over $3,000 what I would otherwise have to pay for a similar Tacori setting.

Thanks a lot for your help,

As a Tacori vendor, I know that most Tacori rings can be sized in half and even sizes with very little disruption, if any, to the design. Most Tacori designs with diamonds set in the ring shank can only be sized in full sizes in order to not have a seam because each little diamond is equivalent to one ring size... Tacori offers free ring sizing for rings (still in production) being purchased from authorized dealers at the normal price (not close-out merchandise sold off by discount houses). I can''t tell you much more than that without knowing more about the specific ring style or the purchase price.

Okay, this is the setting:

What I would want to do is size down to a size 6 and replace the 6.5mm CZ with a 1 carat diamond. Is this doable in this setting?
