More thoughts about spessartites?

I bought a couple (well, three) more, the color is wonderful, but they are slightly included, as usual. So I have three beautifully cut stones, of a beautiful orange color but slightly included. I never mind spessartites to be somewhat included, to have this ethereal orange glow, they, in fact, have to be, because inclusions scatter the light.

But in setting them, I may run into a problem. I do not want a pendant, simply because I have one. They may be large even for earrings, (9x9 mm), but the jeweler is good and we shall figure it out. But a ring... some portions of it have to be bezeled, to avoid any risk of inadvertent damage. Question is, what proportion of the stone can be bezeled without marring the effect? I am using a jeweler that is totally new to me, and he seems very good, but I am afraid that my requests will be simply limiting.

Any thoughts, ideas, threads, links will be helpful.

Will you lose the glow if you do a full bezel but keep the pavilion open? Like James Meyer's settings.

I wouldn't bezel them. I think 9mm is perfectly fine for drop earrings they would be bright and beautiful, but if you don't wear drops there in lies the rub.

I totally agree with Treen - 3 x 9mm bezelled will not only be a very large ring but I wonder how the bezelling will affect performance. Also, and critically, I wouldn't use a new jeweller for bezel work - bezelling shows all flaws and is less easy to hide. If you go down this route could you use your normal jeweller?

Earrings would be lovely so that would be my choice.
