More Hate

i would get a time out for saying what i want to say

Unfortunately words do matter
Words do kill

All the hate that is being spewed about
And the consequences do not surprise me

Hate is being/has been normalized against a certain minority
People are sheep and will follow the latest trends

And the trend to silence the facts is greatly disturbing

  • In 2024, ADL tabulated 9,354 antisemitic incidents across the United States. This represents a 5% increase from the 8,873 incidents recorded in 2023, a 344% increase over the past five years and a 893% increase over the past 10 years. It is the highest number on record since ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents 46 years ago.
  • Incidents of vandalism and assault increased significantly in 2024. Assaults increased by 21% to 196 incidents, impacting 250 victims, and vandalism increased by 20% to 2,606 incidents. Harassment incidents remained relatively steady, with an increase of 0.26%, for a total of 6,552 incidents.
  • For the first time in the history of the Audit, a majority (58%) of all incidents contained elements related to Israel or Zionism. A large portion of Israel-related antisemitic incidents occurred at or in the vicinity of anti-Israel protests. Out of over 5,000 anti-Israel rallies tracked by ADL in 2024, 2,596 involved antisemitic messaging in the form of signs, chants or speeches.
  • Incidents on college and university campuses rose more steeply than those in any other location. In 2024, ADL recorded 1,694 antisemitic incidents on college campuses, which is 84% higher than in 2023. Campus incidents comprised 18% of all incidents, a larger proportion than in any previous Audit.
  • While incidents decreased by 14% at Jewish institutions, they remained elevated compared to pre-October 7, 2023, levels. Jewish organizations, particularly synagogues, were targeted with hundreds of bomb threats and hundreds more general antisemitic threats. Congregants were harassed and even assaulted while at or in the vicinity of Jewish institutions, and some anti-Israel groups escalated their tactics, protesting Jewish religious and cultural institutions on dozens of occasions.
  • Incidents occurred in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. As in previous years, states and metropolitan areas with the largest Jewish populations continued to report the highest levels of incidents. The states with the highest levels of incidents were New York (1,437) and California (1,344).

This was another horrific act of hate. The hate in this country is coming from the top down. When you have a leader that treats half the people disrespectfully and pits people against one another, this is the result. Temperatures need to be cooled down, not ignited and it needs to start with our leaders. The policies this administration has put in place further erodes any attempt at unity.

We all had a choice to make last year about our country and we all knew the ramifications of that choice. We are now getting what our country chose. It’s not that difficult to grasp.

This is horrific. Disgusting.

hate especially based on predjudie and racism is dumb
we had the most lovely American doctor when Garry arrived in reccus, wonderful Asian doctors and nurses
we are up in CCU, its like a league of nations in there
they are all wonderful
i dont care if a doc or a nurse is red, white or blue they are all working to hard to make him better
sometimes their accents are a bit harder but your ear gets used to them really quickly

sometimes i worry if they are looking after us who is looking after their people they left behind
i know our recently graduated docs and nurses often leave to go to the middle east or Australia so some one has to fill the gaps and i really hope their families they make bring with them enjoy living here and being part of our community
some of course have done their med school here in NZ, the other night i wanted to go out for a bit to get some tea and the wee Asian anathesiolost said there are four doctores here and we all trained at Otago , he will be fine -she knew i was from Dunedin - we always find each other, its like you can sense it ;)2

i just wish when i was at high school we had been nicer to the EASL
students, we were not mean to then but we never tried to befriend them or invite them home after school
my mother was old school and predudised but she would have made them welcome and would have happily had them to dinner or to stay over and she would have got to know their mum ad dad

our city and provance was so white but we had a very old Chinese community that went back to the gold rush and they were fully respected, nothing like today where my city celebrates Chinese new year and is proud of our Chinese history
we used to call the green grocers the Chinaman's which i know sounds awful now but it was respectful, they grew all the market gardens, i can still smell the peachers at Mrs Wing Ons (always Mr and Mrs) at Christmas time
before supermarkets of course
but i was very happy to find out recently her family are still at it -fruit and veg but more whoelsale

anyway i beleave most people are predusted because they fear the unknown
we all need to do is mix with each other more
our food would be so bland with out immigration

sorry if i went off topic

many of them were Korean refuges , who i guess had been waiting in refugee camps for years to be rehomed somewhere

because it was in the 80's that was way before K pop but school could have helped and taught us about their culture and got us to mix
i think about those kids often, they even had their class rooms away from ours like they did the special needs kids
i hope they went on to have great lives here in NZ
