I have some examples of moi et toi rings, I’m really wanting to do. I am the worlds worst photographer!!! Idk how anyone could be this bad, but I am. So sorry in advance for the awful pictures! I am trying to figure out what 2 stones would work best. Thank you in advance for your suggestions and opinions. I appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out!18329C21-8974-42DF-A0F2-87A138A198C7.jpeg4105AE0E-1919-417E-909C-498C4510F73B.jpeg2E3A521F-6549-4E7C-840C-43A26301EC1F.jpeg50FE0D21-79A4-4B78-BB5B-CA9F721A23D2.jpeg

I’m confused by your question.
mans youre photos are bad because you took photos of a screen. Next time screenshot them.
Anyways do you actually have stones yet?

if not I don’t really know how to help other than say find the colored stone first-its easier to match a diamond to a colored stone than the other way around

Are you considering two coloured stones or one diamond + 1 CS? Diamond goes with anything so you can stay with the standard blue sapphire, red ruby, green emerald or create your own with your favourite colour.

Here are some of the stones I am thinking about using- brace yourself for bad pictures!

I just added the stones I have and that I am considering using. LOL I was meaning my stone pictures are terrible, but these first pictures are too- sorry! I will do a screen shot next time! I am not wanting to use a diamond. I would like to use 2 gem stones. Sorry for the confusion!

@chrono I just added the gemstones I am considering using. I have others. Too many! These are the one's I am thinking of using. Yes, I was wanting to do 2 gemstones.

I would try to get the cut design and mm size to match as closely as possible. Colour-wise, it is nice to have opposing colours (on the colour wheel) or complementary (but not next to each other). It will help if you place the stones on the same white cotton background next to each other. The one on black velvet is throwing me off.

The pink stone is a garnet, the blue is a sapphire, and the lavender is a spinel. The green is a chrome diopside tourmaline. I do have a shield/pear shaped kind of cranberry spinel too.

Great idea! I will do that! Thank you! @chrono

Can you place ALL the stones in a single picture? All on the same white cotton background? Don't need super close ups. It's even better if you can place 2 or 3 stones in the same white cotton case (stones next to each other).

The purple and teal in the last photo is very pretty.

White metal for the setting?

My eye is drawn to the last two (spinel and teal?) on the right. They have chunky faceting, roundish outline and close mm size? A bit hard to tell.

Which ones are your eyes drawn to?

@chrono I had gotten the pink garnet to go with the teal Sapphire. They both have such great dispersion!!
However, I do see that the lavender and teal are cut pretty much the same. I think they compliment each other in that way a lot. The lavender is definitely smaller, but I think with that first style ring it will still be ok.
I love the color of the garnet with the cranberry pear/shield, I'm not sure how I would put those 2 together though.
Thank you for all of your help!!!

This sounds like a fun project! I also like the two on the far right, but the two I circled below also jumped out at me if you wanted to do opposing shapes.

All of these would probably be more flattering in a yellow metal.
are you keen on a vintage moi et toi? I can think of more modern versions that you could literally match any of these with.

@2Neezers I like these 2 together! I just didn't now if it would matter if the tourmaline is rather deep and the spinel is shallow... I love the idea of these 2 set in something like Victor Canera's moi et toi!!!!

@Niel I just said to 2Neezers that I like the tourmaline with the pear/shield in something like Victor Canera's or the model that has one similar to that. I feel that is a modern yet simple style.

I just hope those 2 color stones don't look to much like Christmas. I'm thinking not since it's not really red! As I said one is deep and one is shallow, so I am not sure what difference if any that makes. I think yellow gold with the 2 stones I am talking about.

If I did the teal and lavender in the first setting shown, I would do a white metal I think. Thank you!

Here is the garnet from prior photos. A larger garnet and a salmon pinkish red spinel. The other photo is the same blue sapphire with a yellow sapphire. If you think any of these work better..64CDB748-A448-4091-8A44-4BDC0664BFDF.jpeg85E9D540-2D48-48B2-8466-6216107CA456.jpeg1FA32BD0-F9A5-4171-935B-ED2FDAE57A27.jpeg

I bought the yellow sapphire at least 15 years ago. I’ve never really looked at it! Yikes! I either need to give it a good cleaning or I need to take that one out- it looks like it has a huge window!!!

I still like the pink whatever it is and the teal thingy together! However, if you want two stones that are similar in shape then go for the two on the far right in your first "white background" picture.

The garnet/spinel + tourmaline + yellow gold combo is giving me major Christmas vibes. Nothing wrong with that (it would be gorgeous; I’d wear it all December) but I don’t think that’s what you’re going for.

@LD I do like the pink garnet and teal sapphire together. I’m just not experienced enough to know if that matters with regard to setting them. So which stone would you do in the bezel and which one in the prongs on the first setting. I love that setting ❤️

@123ducklings lol no, I’m not going for a Christmas look. I like wearing my jewelry year round. I’m starting to feel I’ve bought so many stones that I thought would work together that now I feel unsure about. I feel since these are my small stones, it would be nice to do even 2 moi et toi rings. I love the look Thank you!

If it were my project I would either bezel them both OR use prongs for both. I don't like the mix/match approach as it can look like an after thought (sorry).

These two that you had selected would be my choices too.

DK :))

Thank you @LD . I like that it's mismatched. I love that we all love different things, or how boring would it be if we all had the same thing. I appreciate your opinion. You don't need to be sorry, I want opinions :)
